        I bought the Micro Mark milling machine awhile back, and have been learning how to use it. During the learning process I found that the .001" dials are not as accurate as I would have hoped for. I'm thinking of getting the DRO system offered by Micro Mark, and wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience with it.

        The mill, by the way, is a sweetheart. A little deburing, lube, and some fitting it does what I need it to do. (except for the dials)

      I would go with their remote display dro verniers. They do take a little adapting to fit them to the machine but the end result is well worth the time and money.

      That's what I'm looking at. Most DRO setups are pretty expensive, so I was a little conserned at the low price. I ordered them today.

      Am in the process of trying to find the floor of the garage LOL. Then I will clean up the workbench and get some pics to you. Here in Ariz. it's to hot Micro Mark Digital Readout question to be working in the garage in the summer and all tools,supplys etc just get left in a pile from house jobs. Now that the weather is coming down into the low 90's and 80's it's time to clean up the debris and play.

      Here are some photos of the Digimag DRO installed on my mini mill. Just doing some minor tests it's a lot more accurate than using the dials. I still need to make a mount for the displays, which will probably be some kind of separate piece so I can move it from one side of the machine to the other. I didn't put one on the Z axis, but I don't think that is going to be neccessary. I made a flexible cover for the slides out of a 'Thera-Band' Exercise Bands - Thera-BandŽ Exercise Bands by Thera-Band I had. Not real pretty, but it should keep the dirt out.

      I sure hope these photos arn't too big.
