Is there a bolt size smaller than 0-90??

I would like to do something like the attached photo but the bolt heads seem to be slightly smaller than 0-90 when I eyeball 0-90 vs the edge of the model panels. I don't want to dig 90s in if there is a smaller screw size readily available.

There is a smaller bolt than 00-90 Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway and it's a 000-120 Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway . The only problem is that the number refers to the bolt shaft diameter or the number of threads per inch, not the head or the diameter of the nut. They still might be too big for the engine. For those really small bolts, I've had to use hexagonal styrene Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway rod cut and glued to the engine. I even checked out the optometric hardware but that's still not small enough for those really fine details. If anyone out there has found the right kinds of hardware, please let us know. Thanks.:)

There is a smaller bolt head and exactly what your looking for. Ive mastered a small # but still stuck on the ability to cast them. For now Jeff's ideal of hex rod works. You can also pick up hex brass rod and solder a pin to the end/cut and plate. Looks exactly the same but it takes forever to do the 200 plus bolts for the Bugatti. :o

Dan, the Pocher cast in spark plugs seem scaled too small - plan to remove and use your metal plugs. Does anyone have a spare water pipe for sale? Or would a stand alone engine look more real with just gaskets covering the water inlets at the head? And lastly - colors - should the block and spark plug tray be Alclad Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway Duraluminum or Pale Burnt Metal while the covers, tranny, etc be Aluminum to make the detail stand out? Or would that be too much contrast?

What about the exhaust. Any one with a manifold for sale or should I just use small tube stubs from the exhaust ports like the picture.

    For the bolts:

Bugatti uses a lot of square head bolts. Keep that in mind. Ettore Bugatti was a strange guy in some ways. He always made his own bolts, with different heads, and in odd metric sizes. Standard sizes are M6, M8, M10, M12. Bugatti used M7 and M11....

For the water manifold: a german guy sells them on Ebay.

For the exhausts: the same guy... If you use them, PLEASE fill the dimples where the 4 tubes go together. They should not be there.
Ettore Bugatti showed his engines with just stubs, not complete exhaust pipes, so the model you show is correct in that way.

About the colour: Please take a look at different photos at the photo server I have installed (and will be filled in due course again). I have made analogue pictures of a Type 50B engine at Mulhouse, but I need to gather some money to develop the film. (I am really short of money) so that might take a couple of weeks. However, I do believe it should be metal, not alu. It is the top of the cast iron combustion chambers.

Oops missed this one. Sydnee those plug should be there Monday. Got a little behind on the orders this week. I'll be updating the plugs soon with a slightly better cast so if those don't work just let me know.

    Herman

How about examples of the bolt sizes for things like the intake, covers, crank case, and such. Ill use the handy scale calculator and machine up masters to be cast in metal. :D

Thanks for the help guys but I have pulled my horns in considerably since learning about lacquer Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway paint and square nuts for the for bolts. Until I unscamble my airbrush Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway problems I have to stick to rattle cans and seeing as I had all the parts already primed in enamel Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway I guess I better stick to the aluminum color enamel Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway I already have for this engine.

I agree. Unless you can easily strip the enamel Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway off the body, your best bet is enamel Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway . I really don't know what your experience has been with enamel Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway but it can be made to work pretty well if you have the time to let it cure Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway completely. It'sll spray on faily well but you have to handle it with care and then wait about 2-4 weeks or more if needed to polish it out. That's why I went to lacquer Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway . I couldn't wait that long only to find out I needed to let it go a week or two more and have to start all over again.

Glad I am an amateur and not having to compete with ModleMaker for business.

Anyway, I finally finished the Bugatti 50T engine without the lacquer Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway colors and 200 extra 090 screw heads I had planned. But I section a couple of cylinder walls and add some copper lines. Discretion being the better part of valor I decided to finish up and move on to try to do some scratch building additions to the Red Rod kit that is waiting.

  10. Sydeem,
Thanks but I'm not by any means trying to compete with anyone!
The job you have done is awsome it's hard enough to just complete a Pocher kit ! Herman and a few others will tell you that and you've done it , what youv'e done you've done very well , be proud of your efforts and if you want advise on anything pocher related please ask away thats what I'm here for buddy.
Now on to the paint delemar you have wth painting pochers, in the US there is a product avaliable in Rattle cans called "krylon" ask around cause a few of my friends ( pocher builders) that live in your part of the world rave about the stuff and I know that all the pocher builders over there use the stuff , I don't know what It is, Enamel Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway or Laquer but I'm told it will not react on the pocher plastic.l:

Wow - that is interesting. I believe it is enamel Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway and it is in every hardware store and section in the USA. I wonder what it does on Lindberg, Revel and Mongram kits. I could walk across the street and get any color I want instead of dealing by mail with the online model shops.

Don't forget you must use primer Bugatti 50T Engine Cutaway of the same brand before applying the body color and let each coat dry between coats .

Very nice job! I like your transparent inspection covers. How about adding the Bugatti nameplate on the covers?

Imagine my engine still has no stand. It is just sitting on its cranckcase.

You have the luck of building a Pocher model, and you have the knowledge and perseverance of finishing it. Be proud of it!

At this moment I am stuck in working, driving to and from work (which consume 4 hours every day, very frustrating) and during weekends I try to do some home improvement, and some socials (before I fall into being a complete zombie).

Thank you Herman, that is a good idea. I can't put one on the cylinder block as I wasn't thinking when I chose the middle two cylincers to section but I can sure put the logo on the crankcase and that would add some color to that side.
