As Scale Motorcars is a dedicated online site. We have members from all around the world, I myself am from Australia.

We have members from all walks of life and from many age groups. Except from the the younger age group. Many of us here have been building models from a very young age. In my case since I was 12 years of age, I am now 52.

Because of the vast amount of experience we have as a group of model builders and the fact that we don't have many really young people as members on this site. We have decided that it is time that we as a group started to share our wealth of experience with younger and also older people who haven't yet built a model but may have wanted to; but couldn't find the information about the basics of model building to get them started.

What we will do in the Beginner's Corner section of this site is initially show the basics of building and modifying model kits made of plastic. As I mentioned in my first paragraph this site is primarily devoted to larger scale models. However much of our concentration in this teaching forum will be on smaller scale models. Because it is better and easier to learn the basics on a smaller scale model ( as most of us experienced model builders did), than on a large project. Having said that all the material here that you can learn from can be applied to models of any scale, be they large or small.
