Description: This shows the original interior trim as from the factory. Leather was used extensively and this is the color bicuit as opposed to tan which was a little darker. The aluminum panels have the "dot" pattern as opposed to the "crosshatch" pattern of later cars. The car was running when the picture was taken, so if you look close at the gauges that is why. The tach is red lined at 5,500RPM later cars were at 5,000RPM. The central layout was to allow left and right hand steering positions. The decal on the left of the windsheild had the engine breakin instructions as is required for concours judging.

Description: This shows the overall left view with the bonnet in the up position. There were no mounting options for the front license plate, the English used a decal across the front just above the open nose. You can also see the original style Lucas battery now reproduced by Antique Car Battery, in Hudson, Ohio.

Description: I purchased this car in 1979 for $1,100 it was completely disassembled and had been apart for 10 years. All components and sub assemblies were complete and original with the exception of the steering wheel which had been replaced by a Nardi wheel. There were holes in the body that you could have put your leg through; the rear wheel arches for example did not exist. Initially, my wife wanted my head examined, in time it grew on her. In 1995 after three houses; two children; the same wife and many checks the car was back on the road. It is registered with the Jaguar Heritage Trust which means that all the numbers body,engine, trans, and serial number match the original build manifest. The car was built 10 January, 1962. I wanted the color Black due to the extensive amount of sheet metal work required. Should anyone need any detail shots please contact me.

Description: Right side view of engine. This is a 100 point engine compartment; meaning that everything is just the way it was when it came from the factory. The correct finish, parts painted, plated, correct hose clamps etc. The Gold head color denotes a 9:1 compression ratio. Silver was 8:1; and blue was 7:1. No XKE Blue heads came to the USA, they were for countries that had ppor gas quality at that time such as South Africa.

Description: The under side of the bonnet is as shiny as the outside surface. This was original for the early cars; later on the panels that formed the wheel wells were undercoated not by the factory but by the local car dealers. They also added what were chrome over-riders (after market items) to enable mounting of front license plates. These were not original.

Description: Left side view. The three plastic bottles are front hydrallic clutch, middle and rear; brake fluid resovoirs. Yes, a dual braking system 11" discs in the front, 10" in the rear. The shocks are the original Blue/Gray not the Koni red that is often depicted. The exhaust manifolds are porcellainized and yes bright and shiny like glass. All the fitting are usually silver CAD plated, with bolts being chrome. Brass bolts are used on the exhaust manfolds. The sides of the radiator(aluminum) are black paint while the center core is natural alumium. The carb. air plenum, heater plenum, radiador sheild and header tank(aluminum) are painted with Silver Hammerite to a large splatter industrial finish used on many indusrial machines.
