I have always had a passion for these old pavement supermodifieds that raced in Northern California back in the 60s and 70s. Believe it or not we ran these cars under the saction of NASCAR for a few years. The rules were simple so builders really had to be ingenius with their setups. Buggy springs front and rear, 50" motor to rear axle min. and a 94" wheeelbase and no offsetting the engine. The 3 car I just finished was the winningest car there but this one, I'm starting was a close second. It was driven by Nick Recsino and this picture is from 75'. I always liked this one because of the side draft injectors and the way it sounded on the track. Progress pictures real soon.

Ken I love this style as well for old supers they sure had style for sure and simplistic as well. Often they used Dirt Modified chassis too and revamped them like using Early Tobias chassis. Norman lead me to that golden nugget of info on these old cars. I have a nice collection of pictures of these old Supers as well. Ken they ran our way too and they called them "Bugs" But were on dirt here in this picture but after this picture was taken and Jeno Begelo won the chamionship they paved the track and he never came back to run at this American border track.

I like all those kinds of supers from back in the day. I'd loved to see some pictures sometime, Gary. I started it and have got the body on, but still needs fitting. The frame and motor are close to complete. I'm working on the front and rear end. The cross ram injectors were a challenge as well as the cowl that covers them. No room for error.

Ken that wing is very realistist looking . You know I did aluminum wing once for one of my RC sprinters and I favoured that wing over all others. Seeing your wing brought back fond racing memories...lol

Hey Ken this super is looking real sweet specialy from the back end ...lol hey those leaf springs plastic?

I really marvel at your work and how fast you do things Ken.

Thanks Gary and Norman. I'm almost finished. I have to start a sprinter for the AZ Open Wheel Museum tomorrow but I'm waiting on decals. Needs nerf bars, steering wheel, brakes, etc. but it turning to be cool looking.
