Good Morning Gang:
In my never ending quest to find an appropriate sized slick for my 1/8th scale dragster and funny car projects I stumbled upon something on ebay. Being an r/c guy I've been trying to build around one of the new Traxxas funny car chassis and found that the slicks, while very nice, are way to large (4.5" diameter) to be of any use for a vintage car. In essence they're fine for a 2012/13 funny car, but worthless for a vintage car or even a fuel altered.
My options are (per usual) use a set of the old Lindberg slicks, or scratch build An interesting find! something.
Don was kind enough to show me his methods for a scratch built An interesting find! slick. However, I took my chances and monkeyed around on ebay and found a set of slicks that were used as tea candle holders; of all things! I understand them to be some sort of Nascar keepsake. They are the perfect size, have perfectly painted Good Year logos, are rubber and accept any number of Revell An interesting find! /Monogram/Lindy hubs. They do have a small series of raised ribs on the sidewall, but that doesn't detract from the overall effect of the tire. It was a shot in the dark, but I was thrilled with the results. I will attach a photo
and try to attach the ebay listing number as well.
I am very interested in what you folks think. I'll send more pix along as soon as I can.
Kindest regards, Guy

p.s. As per usual I messed up the photo upload and it ran into the member galleries over my member name "Jumpugly." Sorry about that gang!
Anyway the ebay item number is: 390530387462

      An interesting find!

In the past I had purchased 2 sets in 1/8 scale and 1 set in 1/6 scale so I knew what they were like.

    I'm up to four sets.

Might take a set out to work and put them on the display shelf. Probably CNC up a couple of rims for them sometime.

Hey Chaz! Sorry for the delay...totally slammed at work and at home.
I will look and see what I can find. Right now I've got a set of rims from the '32 Ford 3 in 1 kit.
They are fine for now, but a proper set of Cragers or slotted wheels would be better.

Mine came a while back. Looking at them they seemed rather...well...LARGE. I mentioned I might build a dragbike using one for the rear. I picked up an old Revell An interesting find! 1/8th Kawasaki drag bike at a swap meet this past weekend. I'm posting pics of the Revell An interesting find! slick beside the eBay item. I may have to go 1/6th scale on the bike as it looks, at least to me, that a 1/8th scale motor (no matter the mfg.) wouldn't be able to turn it. Not only that, the frame would have to be reallllllllly w-i-d-e.
