I decided the time has come for me to build yet another 1/12 scale Super Seven, (it has been almost six years since I finished my last one), the only “problem” is I don’t have any more kits of them.
If I counted correctly, this will be my 7[SUP]th[/SUP] 1/12 scale Seven.
So instead of shopping for one, I grabbed a sheet of brass and started cutting, beating and bending.
I am not sure why I started with the hood first, it just seemed like a good idea.

Amazing work. Love the lettering on the roll bar. I want to climb in and drive it!

Thanks. I'm wondering how it would drive too...

    The trunk latch/lock is installed.

Only a few more parts to go…

Since you are a big Lotus 7 fan, I thought you might be able to tell me something about this version which showed up at Race Retro. It's about as low as you can go and looks stretched too. Do you know anything about it or have you seen it before?

I've not seen that one before, and don't know about it, but it has some of the style cues of the very early Lotus Seven as well as its own very sleek look. I like that one!

After over two years it is done. The first 100% scratch-built car I've finished. I'll share some detail photos later after I get a chance to shoot them.

You deserve a prize not only for such a quality build, but also because you finished it! I have personally discovered how difficult that is and observed it on many threads here, especially in my forum of choice - RC's. MOTM candidate - I humbly submit my nomination!

Thanks guys! I usually finish everything I start, sometimes there is a long time span of the project "napping". But in this case it was my primary focus, even though I did some other simpler projects along with it.

    Here are some detail photos.

I guess it wasn’t 100% finished even though I entered it in the ValleyCon last weekend.
I decided to add some more “junk in the trunk” and I made a 1/12 scale version of the 1/24 scale Tamiya Another Super 7 Lotus 7 kit box.

A beautiful build! I have really enjoyed watching you build this over the last two years. One of my favorite threads.

Thanks Mike, that is very kind of you to say.

I'm still adding little details to it. The last one is some maps.

The can and cap are machined aluminum; I drew the art and made a decal Another Super 7 for the labeling. It even has a little hollow red straw taped onto the can and the notch to store it in the cap.

And then I decided it should have a quart of oil in the trunk too.

I am not too fond of the back of the car, but man what a build!
Thanks for sharing it all the way. It holds a lot of good info for us humble mortals who are less experienced in scratchbuilding.
    Best regards,
    Dominique.

I added the recessed areas for the labels and the ribbing on the side of the bottle.
