I havent been able to update lately...we have been too busy doing this...



Driver was okay, just a bad ending to a very fast and promising weekend.
After doing some math and realizing that my original model was nowhere near 1/8 scale I decided that it was as far as i could take it, I painted it and decided to start an accurately measured car. Here is the end result of model #1...



and now the new build... bit of a learning curve with brass but i think I am getting it...

Sides being built on basic diagram with subtle differences between left and right sides.

Both sides near compltetion...

Commitment time...erected sides held together with mocked motor plate and template

At this point I am getting structural rigidity... a lot more cross bars to come but I will be focusing on some detail work while I still have access with files and such.

You can see the considerable size difference. Never measured out the scale on the first one but I do know that its larger than 1/12. I like doing the bigger scale better since I get to pay attention to some details that just weren't possible on the smaller one.
