      Hello everyone,

Summer's gone and my girlfriend too...
Time to finish up and present the latest ride to join my flock.

The inspiration struck me when I saw a photo of Steve McQueen standing next to this beautiful little car,
which I found out to be Eric Broadley's Lola T70 Spyder. I just had to chisel those body lines into an one-eighth model...

So here she is, modeled loosely after Dan Gurneys 1966 SL.71/34 MkII Spyder. Enjoy!

In the next days I'll be posting photos of the building process too. Thanks for looking!

    Hello guys,

thank you very much for the praise It's nice to know people who value the amount of work such a project involves.

I am very sorry that I haven't been able to post WIP 1/8 Scale Scratch Built Lola T70 Spyder pics yet, but I started my new job this week and still need to get it all together.
Furthermore, I'm in the middle of peparations for the model car show this weekend in Frankfurt where I'm going to display some of my works with the Lola being the star of my collection. Anyone who is interested in models of passenger cars is highly recommended to come and visit us (14. Frankfurter Modell-Auto-Ausstellung - Volkshaus Enkheim (Frankfurt am Main))!

I'll be back ASAP with more pics, I promise!

    All right,

as promised, here are some WIP 1/8 Scale Scratch Built Lola T70 Spyder pictures. I'll focus primarily on the main body modeling process, as you all know the chore of making the little details e.g. for the cockpit as well or even better as I do.

That's how it started: with the usual Polyurethane block. For reference I used cutout drawings from the net and a Spark model.

So those are some steps of modeling the basic body. Note that I built the body from two halves to have a reference line right through the middle all the time, to get the symmetry right.
