Here's where we'll continue ERAChas' thoughts on the car we love the best, the Cobra.

      http://www.kirkhammotorsports.com/

The above link is one incredible Cobra link. If I had the cash, I'd get one of those black street 289 Cobras with a coupe top. Check out the polished aluminum Cobras and make sure you check out the brushed copper bodied 40 Ford under the custom link on that site. Thanks Chas for finding this one.

My vote would be for a gen 2 Camaro, preferably between 1970-1972.

I just wanted to pass some eye candy past you guys. Kind of been working on this .....kinda on the side. It was worked up using a set of plans that came my way, some time back.

I case you don't recognize it, let's just say the frame was built in the mid 60's to accept a 427 sideoiler......an aluminium body.......a toploader.......and one big pair of coconuts!

Hey Tim. How different is that frame from the one that would take the 289? Like I mentioned before I would love to see a 289 kit in 1/8. the only thing is I don't know how I'll ever be able to aford something like that. The 34 3 window also sounds great.

Chas is right guys....we have a number of things in the can now including some new bodies. Now it's head count time because the input we get from you members will determine what is or isn't put into production. So I'm only going to say this one last time....you have only yourself to blame if you don't speak up, after all it doesn't require any $ commitment to put your wish list on the table.

Jeff........motor mounts, and perhaps repositoning the trans crossmember. Shoot, not far from my house a bud has a 454 in a Morris Minor...if that isn't scary enough, his brother has a bug with a 396. You do know that the hot For Cobra Lovers rod guys have already stuffed a Hemi in a PT Cruiser...right?

    YOU GO TIM!!!!!
YIKES! You guys came out of the woodwork! Looks like I'm full of soap about vacations and stuff! Glad to see this.

To answer Hot For Cobra Lovers Ford's q: the small block car has 3"tube main rails and nearly the exact bird cage tubing as the big block. The 427 however has 4" tube rails and crossmembers which are spread 2" (I believe) further apart. The pivot points for the rear suspension are different on the BB car. The small block had transverse leaf front but the big block was redesigned for coilovers.
The actual body on CSX 3002 (BB car prototype) had the front fender tops each cut by Miles and Rem from headlights to cowl and a 1" filler strip of ally let in. Same on the rear and the bigger hips were fabbed to smoothly connect to the door jam area. That's also why 3002 has the small block car's narrow nose-it started life as a small body car. Testing with the 427 revealed the nose was too small for cooling so they modified until they got to the current shape.

Now the question: ARE YOU TDR For Cobra Lovers GUYS LISTENING?

Yeah and I saw a picture of it on a dragstrip. I think the guy had to move the dash to the back seat. Believe me, if I had the cash to blow, I just might try to stuff an elephant into my cruiser. I've been talking about that for years.

Chas, thanks for the info. I have GMP's 1/12 scale 289 and a 1/18 scale 289. One made in 1/6 would be incredible but I would need some help making the body. the rest I think I can fabricate if the frame is all tubes. I'd love to have that black one on the site you showed but dang, I just want too many things.

I like your wish list, Rob. There are a few things I'd like too.

Hey Don, what about one of those early 50's Stude Chamion with the bullet nose? That would look cool in 1/8 by far.

If it helps ANYBODY, I found a BB Cobra resto in progress at Canepa's with these excellent bare chassis shots. Unfortunately, Canepa doesn't let you capture his shots so here's the link:

They do enlarge and are very clear. No 289 car stuff though...
