That is great; if he isn't happy with it I bet a bunch of folks here would be. I wish you had the time to illustrate a build as you do one your models like you used to. Only a couple of people here (Mario, Don, etc.) could consider copying your techniques but the rest of us would sure be entertained and learn something from the effort.

I thought, "Gee, I am not impressed with the exhaust" in the first image till I saw them finished in the second image behind the wheels.

Hey, do you have any tips or tricks on how to disassemble a diecast model. I've been wondering just how to unglue things in a diecast.

Tim, I'm sure Sean has a few tips, putting it in the freezer for a day or two usually works pretty well for me.....takes some prying and care but glue joints (usually) can be coaxed apart. Guess it depends on the adhesive.

Luckly The model contained very little glued Joints what was glued was just pryed apart and cleaned up .

Syd I did heaps of Tuts a while back on silversoldering ,machining , Tire pattern making Etc nothings changed since then , just have to dig deep here to find them.

Ok Max Fans a few more pics of the finished model although they are very dark SORRY !! I will get my flash fixed someday .
The first 3 pics show the car before I started and what I had to work with .
I find the best way to modify a diecast (although I'm no expert at this as it's my first and last one)is to photograph the model as you pull the thing apart each level at a time this gives you a photographic reference when it comes to put the thing back together latter.
Tim as I said earlier I just pry glued joints apart , Dons Idea is a good one to try as well .
