Go for it. You've got a great start.

Thanks, here's today's progress. These coilover cars require much more trianglation with the frame, to keep them from flexing. Building the chassis is the best part for me.

Sorry Dan, I wasn't sure if I was going to post this build or not when I built the motor. There is a picture of it being started and the plan I drew, in the Discussion section under VW dimensions.

Got in a model rut for a brief moment. So I built a tri wing (Red Baron type) balsa/tissue airplane. Better now, those are hard to do right. I had never built an airplane. I am working on the tail tank out of styrene VW Midget . Quite the challenge, but I'm doing it. Headed off for two weeks of being grandpa (I love it) and I'll get back hot VW Midget and heavy on the midget.i return.

Here's the airplane, I know it's not the correct thread. Forgive me. I had never built a plane before ( or car until last year) so this is a first. Building the frame wasn't difficult but covering the thing with tissue paper was. It still needs machine guns and a few do-dads. Anyway I'm ready to build race cars again.

I think its the tissue paper that turned me off on planes. What a pain in the butt. Yours looks good however.

That still sounds fun. Maybe someday I'll twist the rubber band up on the prop and see if she flys; if not it should glide while on fire!

Back to work on the midget. I made the body parts all out of styrene VW Midget sheet instead of fiberglass. A new adventure for me in building. What I learned building that airplane helped me out building the tail tank out of sheet stock. Also made the tire because you can't get midget racing tires for 1/8 scale. The cool thing is I could get stagger in the tire sizes, just like the real guys. The outside tire has a greater circumference that the inside tire. All and all a fun little project to do.

That is a very fine body. I can't believe you are doing all this sheet styrene VW Midget warping with just body heat. I gotta figure out how to do that.
