WOW - You have every right to be proud of that build. Looking for you to publish a build in progress. Think we could all learn something from your techniques.

    Hello Kevin,
welcome here, and you've done some great work on the Vette. Especially I like the paintjob and texture of the seats. How did you do this?

    Cheers

Thanks fellas for your kind words of encouragement. As I am looking at this site and galleries, I'm discovering that I'm really running with the big boys. Some of the builds here are awesome! I gotta keep up!

As for the interior of this car, I used Tamiya Hello all! I'm new here and this is my '82 Corvette Collectors Edition Monogram spray paint. It was some shade of aircraft gray. Its not too flat, not too shiny, and lays very well. It was just one coat. As for the color gradient on the seats and doors, I bought 4 bottles of varying shades of gray, also Tamiya Hello all! I'm new here and this is my '82 Corvette Collectors Edition Monogram . I masked off each panel and went from lightest to darkest. Needless to say, I had to wait for each panel to dry before doing the next. After that, I applied another very thin coat of the aircraft gray, enough to give the interior a second coat, but light enough to let the stripes pop through. (The lightest band is a shade of beige but the thin coat of top spray gave it the light gray hue. The steering wheel and column were done in a much darker shade of gray. I cued off a real Corvette that was for sale on eBay.

Any other questions just ask. Dont want to be too verbose.

I dont have many progress pics for this car. I do have progress pics of a 79 Trans Am, done in Heritage brown. I post a bit later.

    Thanks all, from Kevin.

    ps: nominations appreciated

Thanks. Dismantled the real car, brought it inside piece by piece, and put it back together.

So you like Cords huh? From you gallery, it is really hard to tell your models from the real ones.

Now that's what I call a stunning Vette. Beautiful job especially the finish. Great work.

I made my parents lose our fish tank so I could put one of these front and center in our living room back in the day. Nice to see at least one avioded "the teenage crusher," as mine did not!
