      Hi folks,

Hope you don't mind my first post being a question.

But I'm just starting out on a hunt to see if I can build a large scale model of the car I drove in High School.

Must be a mid-life crisis thing you think? LOL!

Anyway I know Revell Looking to build a 69 Z-28 Camero RS does the perfect replica of the car I drove in 1/25 scale, but I would really like to go for the big guy.

I tips on how I should start my adventure?

    Welcome to the jungle Jack!

Revell Looking to build a 69 Z-28 Camero RS or Monogram has a 1:12 '69 Z-28. As far as I know that is as close as you will find in a kit. There might be a larger one form Dyosha but that would be big bucks and I am not even sure if I am telling the truth with that statement, LOL.

I hope I was of some help. I am pretty new to this site also and am just now in the process of losing my large scale virginity. Trust me, it IS addictive! A total blast also.

    Thanks my friend,

I haven't seen the 1/12 but I'm kind of holding out for the 1/8 due to the fact that I'm seeing much more aftermarket stuff being produced at that scale.

I've seen an IROC Camero in that scale, and I'm wondering if It would be possible to just come up with a 1/8 69 RS body, I don't know enough about the later year Cameros to know if they were that much different.

But I'm real interested in finding out about scaling up something using the 1/25 scale model I have. I think I'm going to be getting in touch with Revell Looking to build a 69 Z-28 Camero RS to see if I can do what I'm thinking.

Has anyone duplicated things from existing models, and had any issues?

Check out Ebay item # 160588118234. This is the 1:12. It is actually a pretty decent kit for a start and there is plenty available for aftermarket 1:12 details. As I am finding out, you just have to dig.

And don't be afraid to ask questions! I have asked many and all here are more then willing to help if we can!

I don't think Steve (Esetban Loco) will mind if I post a pic of the 1/12th R/M Camaro he built a few years back...yes it is a model. As you can see, he's also quite proficient at photography.

Nice model. Only problem is that mine needs to be a 69 Z-28 Rally Sport. This appears to be a 69 SS.

But a great representation, none the less.

So does anyone have information about what happened to Bills build?

Amazing! It was exactly what I was thinking of doing.

I think it's still in progress Jack. Work like that doesn't happen quickly. If I remember right, there were a few people trying to convince him to sell a kit, but I'm sure if he did it would be $$$$$ because of the amazing detail and quality and the amount of time he spent to do it right.
