As many of you know TDR TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. has been working some long headscratching hours to bring you our first multi-media kit......
It's the TDR TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. Roadster!

We've asked Sydney Deem to build a prototype along with TDR TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. 's Tim for photos and to work out any remaining gremlins so that we can make running changes if needed.
This way we will be able to provide you with the best kit we possibly can.
The kit will be as complete as we can make it. Bumper to bumper, things like a real wood steering wheel, pre-cut aluminum interior panels, material for carpeting, all the suspension pieces, wheels, tires and as many other goodies as we can produce will be included in the complete kit.

Tons of time, effort & coins have gone into producing this kit....we are doing everything we can to keep the cost to you as low as possible and will even offer the kit in stages so you can purchase one assembly at a time as your budget and build time allows.

The engine will be a 427 side oiler.....thanks to Tony (another TDR TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. partner).
Tim did the chassis & all the suspension work so you know it's top notch as well.

Once the body had cleared Tim's keyboard it was done in RP TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. . It then went to the old master the "Madd Fabricator" for assembly and many hours of fine tuning and finishing. Anyhow...here's a few pics of his master for you to run your orbs over.....M.F. now faces the task of making the multi piece molds as the body will be hand laid up in fiberglass which has untold advantages over resin TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. for a body this size.

Watch this thread for Syd's build up of the prototype and more information on the kit as it progress.....you'll get a first hand look at what goes on behind the scenes at TDR TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. .

As always, your input, comments and questions are not only welcomed but encouraged.

Hmmmmmmmmm.....Tim and MF would have a fit if I cut the body up to stretch it and put the drivers seat in the trunk.

Just a quick note to clear the air a little bit. Don's title to the posting about " UNLEASHING the BEAST" does not denote any change in what we at TDR TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. are calling this product. It will always be known as the "TDR Roadster ", as will any of the components associated with it. Don was simply repeating a statement I made in an email to my fellow TDR TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. associates that maybe it was time to " unleash the beast", which meant it was time to let the proverbial cat ( beast) out of the bag, so you the modelers could see where we are at with this project. Hope this clears up any misunderstanding about it's name.
NOW, stay tuned for build pictures as they happen, but please be patient, as we may have a few production " bugs" to work out.
    Thanks for listening.

I don't care what you guys call it. The only name I can see is FANTASTIC!!!!! Rob, looks like you have the perfect research vehicle. I'm saving up my nickels and dimes to get one of these beauties when it comes out. I've got some good styling ideas under my wig for that including a scratchbuilt coupe top.

Here's a challenge for you Jeff. You're a talented (scratch) builder so why not take one of the new Roadster bodies and play with it by taking it back to an A.C. Bristol design. Scratchbuild a six cylinder engine, or modify a Jag engine to resemble an A.C. six cylinder, to put into it.

TDR TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. is opening up some great opportunities with kits like this. I for one hope it does not become just another boreing clone car as has happened to the 1:1 TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. version. Previous suggestions in this thread are all exciting options so I want to add mine too.

Rick, you're not going to believe this but you read my mind. I was going to fiddle with the body and make a 289 styled roadster but taking it back to the AC is also very, very tempting. I'm going to do some research at some AC sites and see what looks good. I'll be getting back to this thread so stay tuned.

It only took me about 10 minutes on Google but it was just enough for me to make a great decision. The possibilities are boundryless. There are four beauties I found. There's the AC Bristol, the AC Ace, The AC Aceca and the AC Zagato. They're all very similar in shape and can be easily converted from the TDR TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. roadster body. As TDR TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. has done with the roadster and the 426 engine that came out earlier, it won't be an exact AC clone but very similar. I'll name the final model a TDR TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. Club Coupe or the Two Seater TDR TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. Sedanette.

I'll put my reservation in for one of those kits now. When the roadster finally comes out after the bugs are exterminated, I should be done with my contest entry. I'm looking forward to this.

    Right on Jeff!

All these new bodies, parts and accessories open the door for us to get creative. Anyone can build a clone car but as soon as someone gets creative it brings a ton of excitement back into the hobby.

All this reminds me that I've got to get to work on my MF Willys coupe turned woody. Hey Don!!........got any basswood scraps left?

You'll have to narrow the chassis and body 4 scale inches to start with.
Then fabricate front and rear transverse leaf spring suspension.
    Then build a 221 or 289 SBF.

In short the early, narrow body will never look right on the wider, late 427-style chassis.

I have not found my 1:1 TDR "unleashes a beast" the TDR Roadster. "boring" in the 22 years since I built it.

That all goes without saying Chas. A 289 Cobra body will fit on a 427 chassis like a Volkswagen Beetle body on a stretch limo frame. This is going to be a multistyles project.
