      Hello everyone,

meet the newest member of the gang.
As you might have guessed it's a GT40 Mk1, modeled after the 1/18 Spark model of the Rodriguez car.
Again, this is a complete scratchbuilt curbside 1/8 model, nothing can be opened, the wheels turn and can be steered though.

The engine is scratchbuilt too, but you can buy a kit that used my engine as prototype on www.fein-design-modell.de
      see here too
      http://www.scalemotorcars.com/forum/...gle-sbc-engine

Thank you for looking, comments and questions are welcome!

Wonderful work Mike! Is this one of the resin 1/8 scale scratch built Ford GT40 Mk1 bodies Broadspeed was showing on his thread or your own body similar to what you did on your Lola project? Once again, outstanding work.

Hello GTZ, I did this compltetely by myself, like I made the Lola.
Basically I cut the body from a solid piece of wood-like polyurethane, made a silicone mold, and made a cast.
Then I carved the cockpit out and glued a GFK roof on.

Would love to see a build thread on it if you decide to do one. The Lola thread was great. Wish I had the skills and the time, but at least I get to see how it's done and enjoy it just the same.

You're right Larry, I really should make a build thread once more. In case of the GT40 I just didn't manage to make decent photos during the build. I'll try to do it with the next car once I've decided which one of the 1000 choices I'll build ;)

    Wonderful work Mike,Wow!
Miss this build but now i found it.
Congratulations to the high level of details you add to it.And its very clean and flawless.

A lot of time goes into it,for sure.
I decided for my to stay at the 1/12 scale, maybe the Altaya GT40 Gulf in 1/8 is on my shopping list?
    Which one next?
    Porsche 917 i hope?

    all the best

Hi Mike! Great to see some more close ups of your beautiful GT 40. Fantastic work on the body sculpt, really gorgeous. The leather work on the seats is amazing, wrinkles and stitching all there including all those grommets for air circulation. And once again your Webbers are a work of art all by themselves! Looking forward to your next project, which reminds me that I have to get back to mine also.

Hello Big John, thanks for the praise! Those grommets on the seats really were a handful.
Haven't really decided on my next project, there's so much to do, but keep us posted about what you're up to please!

    Thanks for the praise Scott!
A friend of mine liked the engine so much he made a small run of resin 1/8 scale scratch built Ford GT40 Mk1 kits of it.

    It's rather costly though.
