I don't know why it took so long to start this build, the E-TYPE has always been one of my favorite cars and it is just drop dead gorgeous. I have been studying the other great builds on this site and have gotten some great ideas as well as informative instruction. I am leaning toward the 4.2 liter Series 1 convertible in model year 1968.

I wanted the final coat to be clear gloss enamel Jaguar e-type . Lets just call it operator error and leave it at that. The final top coat of Testors Enamel Jaguar e-type Gloss Maroon is on. I'll give it a couple of days to cure Jaguar e-type , or what ever it is that paint does when you are not looking.. Meanwhile the convertible top boot needs attention. Bondo is my go to body filler. The boot that came with the after market, convertible body conversion section was a little rough but cleaned up real nice. I bought it on ebay.

A little more sanding Jaguar e-type and its off to the paint shop. I think that it will look more like leather than leather.

I thought that I would try something new (to me). Instead of using medical tape for carpeting I applied a product called FLOCK IT!. It comes in a kit and is easy to use. As you can see the doors are finished. The excess from the interior will be salvaged after a 24 hour dry period.
