I don't know why it took so long to start this build, the E-TYPE has always been one of my favorite cars and it is just drop dead gorgeous. I have been studying the other great builds on this site and have gotten some great ideas as well as informative instruction. I am leaning toward the 4.2 liter Series 1 convertible in model year 1968.

As I climb out of my frozen man cave I can see that the ice that encased my xke has melted. The female is awake from her long slumber, feeding her cubs she looks at me with a strange glint in her eye. I think she is hungry.

I have taken up a new hobby. "Sleeping On The Job". It is great fun and I recommend it to every one, especially those over fifty five. Now that the warm weather has arrived I spend less time at the work bench and more time watching the grass grow. Growing grass and watching it mature is another hobby of mine. I prefer the natural organic method, just add some rain and sun.

I added the missing Rack and Pinion steering to the front end assembly. A horn was also fabricated from parts found in the bottomless spare parts box.

It looked like the missing radiator core was going to be a problem until I found one in the, you guessed it, the bottomless spare parts box. The core was left over from a 1932 Ford Roadster which is featured elsewhere in the Forum. The plug wires were purchased from Model Motorcars Jaguar e-type and in my opinion look a lot better than plain black wire.

Jumping around here a little bit. I made a cover for the dashboard glove box and a new, stronger turn signal lever. The gauge decals from the kit are a bit large for the gauges I found in the spare parts box. So I trimmed them down with a gasket hole punch, the gage lens was made with the same tool. I found some brass belaying pins in the nautical section of the you guessed it, spare parts box. They will make great toggles for the dashboard electrical switches. A spare parts box does not have to be large if you only keep the good stuff.
