Well It was bound to happen........... TDR The New TDR 427 Roadster Innovations is finally bringing you our first complete model kit!!!!!

We have only existed, in our current configuration, for about a year now. In that time TDR The New TDR 427 Roadster Innovations has brought you over 100 1/8th scale model kits. To date all of our kits have been of engines, suspensions, tires, wheels, trannies and frames that you could use to supplement existing kits that are on the market.

      Well, no more!!!

After the Christmas sales rush of 2009 calmed down, Don posed the question to us, "What is going to be our big project this year?". Well it did not take long for all the partners to agree that we needed to come up with something big and that that something should be nothing other than the TDR The New TDR 427 Roadster 427 Roadster you see here.

We have been keeping it secret until we were ready for prime time and that time has come. As I am writing this post, the Mad Fabricator is diligently putting the finishing touches on the body master. AJWheels is putting the final touches on that beast of a power plant and tranny. I am doing the initial fit up of all the chassis and interior components.

We do not have a final part count yet, but the number of parts should well exceed 200. These parts will include a complete and detailed adjustable suspension, complete CNC fabricated interior sheet metal components (made from .007" thick aluminium), 427 SO engine with multiple induction setups, and a fiberglass body that can be easily tweaked to make multiple versions of the body (street, Semi-Comp, and Comp)

Right now, as far as the chassis design goes we are focusing on the street version. Once that is complete we will move on to the more radical versions of the Roadster.

Well that is enough talk for right now. Here are some pictures of the CAD models to start things off. There is more to be coming real soon.....I promise!!

I am sure that AJWheels and the Mad Fabricator will be posting up some of there work too.

Well, as we have now put this out in the open, I thought I might send along a few images of the 427 side-oiler.........a work in progress The New TDR 427 Roadster , a few different configurations and such..............

The intent is to make available the single Holley double-pump and down-draft Weber set up (shown), as well as the dual Holley BJ/BK intake (not shown)........also, lurking in the image, in addition to the standard, stamped steel valve covers, are finned, cast aluminum types so common to these motors.......and then there is the extra-capacity, cast oil pan as well........and not to forget, also in work is the 4 speed, toploader transmission to back this all up............

Yep, we're having fun now............can't wait to see all this come together............

Now the next question will be: Are you going to offer it in smaller scale versions as the process matures? There is no truly accurate competition version of that "roadster" in 1/24 although a number of street versions are out there.

I am afraid that the technology of the 3d printers will have to progress a lot to be able to print these small chassis parts out in 1/24th scale. We are pushing the limits at 1/8th scale right now. When the technology improves though, TDR The New TDR 427 Roadster will be there ready with the files to print.

Here are some pictures of actual parts.

These pictures show the first test parts of the new TDR The New TDR 427 Roadster 427 Roadster. We are currently testing the fit up and the strength of the parts.

We are testing some new rapid prototyping The New TDR 427 Roadster systems and they look promising. The black tire in these pictures had no finishing work done to them at all. All I did was shoot some pimer/sealer and then shoot the finish coat.....no sanding The New TDR 427 Roadster at all.

OH WOW!!! I was hoping one of these would come along. I'll have to really save some cash to put this one in the stash. Thanks TDR The New TDR 427 Roadster . You've done it again.

Hey HFC......you may get to start this kit sooner than you think.

We are considering offering this kit in multiple Sub-kits. That way the modeler can purchase say.....a frame first. He can work on it finish it out to the desired level and then maybe in a few months pick up a suspension kit. Then work on the suspension and get it just right. Then maybe come Christmas time his wife can pick him up some tires and wheels.....and so on and so on.........

Man that looks good! A 1/8th Cobra, probably the closest I would ever get to a real one!! Whats the chance of a Daytona Coupe? Now that would be a definite purchase for me!!

    Doc.

A Daytona coupe, a Daytona coupe, a Daytona coupe. That's the new definition of a hot The New TDR 427 Roadster ford coupe if I do say so myself. I want one of those too. Hey Don, can you see the smoke under those turning wheels? Just when I think I've got it all, along comes a roadster and a coupe. Looks like I'm going to have to give up that operation I was saving for.

Wow!! That's what I call a nice spread. For those who aren't familiar with TDR The New TDR 427 Roadster kits, they're one of the best aftermarket part producers out there.
