Next step is to light it up with LED's. Not a 10kW chicken-light display, but the minimum legal allotment (this is after all a company truck). Head, tail, sidemarkers, clearance and a sleeper dome should be enough. Oh, and the work light on the back of the cab.

If I can find small enough LED's I'll do the lights on the mirrors. The 1:1 has exposed power leads so it won't be much work to hide them. Problem is finding enough room inside the mirrors.

I have an evil plan for funding the chassis, so this build will go ahead as scheduled.

Drilling the holes was the hardest part. I just knew the drill bit was going to skitter across my new paint. But it didn't.



Slightly scurfy taillight panel. Look closely and you'll see the right-hand lamp is full of water (added a clear half-moon lens inside the lower half)



I don't like this guy, he looks like he's up to something.

Oh man, is this great. I love the way you got it lit up. You need to put in a sound chip of an idling engine and some air brake noise. I can small the diesel from here.

Mud flaps look great OBH....but where's that little chrome plated reclining (stick on) babe the truckers are so fond of, or perhaps Yosemite Sam "back off" art? Then there's always "passing side"-"suicide" with the appropriate arrows.

Don, this is a company truck. The main office doesn't go for that kind of foolishness

But my other truck has the chrome babes and a good set of chicken lights!

Well, here she is, finished for now.



Chassis is a Tamiya King Hauler. I had to tweak the cab mounts (no surprise there) and shorten the fuel tanks to replicate the twin 100's.



Rear tires are from gardentrucking.com, wheels are Tamiyas modified with Easter eggs. Notice the valve stems.



Rear light panel. I cut up some 1/32 slot car tires to make the gaskets.



Qual-Comm dome made from Wild Willy headlights



Sneaky concealed electronics, when the body is on the bunk covers the battery, and cabinets conceal the speedo and receiver.
