2CV CITROEN AZ 1956 build from scratch, Scale 1/6-schema-jpg2CV CITROEN AZ 1956 build from scratch, Scale 1/6-2cv-drawing-1-jpg
This drawing coming from : http://www.citroenet.org.uk/passenge...2cv-index.html

It's a special RC car because I want a true reduce car whith a true reduce motor and the remote control must be completly hiden

Why 1/6 scale ? I saw for 1/8 but it's very small for make a nitro fuel motor and a quarter scale I don't like because it's to big

Next time I will show you motor progress

    Hello and welcome Denis!

Very nice work! -and a nice example of what can be done so simply with sand 2CV CITROEN AZ 1956 build from scratch, Scale 1/6 casting 2CV CITROEN AZ 1956 build from scratch, Scale 1/6 ! I have done some, just to prove that I can, and a little more to learn a few new to me techniques. But I have not committed to making any actual parts, while I wait to confirm dimensions and/or design details.

But I have wondered why more people do not use it? Yes, there is the risk of injury with molten metal, but common sense and simple precautions are enough to cast safely. Obviously you and I see the advantages.

Again, welcome to the forum, and I look forward to your progress!

    Thanks Don

I think it's more easy for me to make a crankcase in aluminium casting 2CV CITROEN AZ 1956 build from scratch, Scale 1/6 , compare to a crankcase complete machinning

    Now the crankshaft

First I make centers and I mill a reference edge
2CV CITROEN AZ 1956 build from scratch, Scale 1/6-1111-jpg
I make centers on the other side
2CV CITROEN AZ 1956 build from scratch, Scale 1/6-2222-jpg
    Turning whith lathe
2CV CITROEN AZ 1956 build from scratch, Scale 1/6-3333-jpg
    Compare to a lighter !
2CV CITROEN AZ 1956 build from scratch, Scale 1/6-4444-jpg

And the more crazy for the end : Connecting rods are directly cast on te crankshaft
2CV CITROEN AZ 1956 build from scratch, Scale 1/6-5555-jpg

It's crazy but connecting rods in zinc alloy directly cast on the crankshaft working very well
The crankshaft material is : stainles steel 316L

Compare camshaft to a european coins 16mm (5/8"), the camshaft whith only 2 cam lobe it's for a single cylinder prototype
2CV CITROEN AZ 1956 build from scratch, Scale 1/6-4444-jpg
All internal parts are classic machining
Cylinder bore is 12.7mm (1/2") whith stroke 10mm
Valve head 5mm, valve stem 2.5mm
The springs come from a pen
