2CV CITROEN AZ 1956 build from scratch, Scale 1/6-schema-jpg2CV CITROEN AZ 1956 build from scratch, Scale 1/6-2cv-drawing-1-jpg
This drawing coming from : http://www.citroenet.org.uk/passenge...2cv-index.html

It's a special RC car because I want a true reduce car whith a true reduce motor and the remote control must be completly hiden

Why 1/6 scale ? I saw for 1/8 but it's very small for make a nitro fuel motor and a quarter scale I don't like because it's to big

Next time I will show you motor progress

How do you attach the fenders to the body? With glue? Your Deuche is good looking, very realistic!

I appreciate the shots of making the fenders. I have some fiberglass repair to do on a musical instrument case and have wondered if I could develop enough skill to make body parts or even an entire body with the material. Your process here makes me think someday, Lord willing, I just might. In the meantime, I need to get out in the garage and fix my cracked case! Great work Dennis!

    Thanks JunkGTZ,

I don't know how doing the 2cv's fenders in sheet metal, maybe it's possible for members like : Roger, Markus68, Propeller... but not for me
It' difficult to anticipate the form of this fender, I saw I forget to made the rear corner, it's not very showy but now I know this default I must repair it !

I'm not sure if I could do the exterior front fender in one piece or without cutting/soldering the various joints. Each material has his own disadvantages: the fiberglass method is relatively quick but there are bubbles in the material which could be seen later when painted; brass or metal requires more skills and time. However, the surface is ideal for painting as well as other advantages.

Sure Roger, each technics have is advantage or disadvantage, I had trying many technics with this project it's very interesting
I had trying vacum forming for the fenders but I prefer fiberglass
For the hood I made it with homemade vacum forming
I made the pattern with wood cross sections and I nail on it a HIPS sheet and I made and glued one by one the 23 ribs strips

I like how resourceful you are! Your mix of materials to make the body - brass, fiberglass, and Vacuum Formed plastic reminds me of a term in the art world for pieces that are not of one material or media. They call is "Mixed Media" and you are very artful in doing it!
