I bought one of these when working on the Bugatti engine. Tiny but VERY nice.
I love mine. Used it to make screw heads out of 1mm rivets for the carbs on the Hemi engine build.

Now that's exactly what I need. I've been clamping my Dremel in a vise and turning by hand. It's worked well but I could have done a lot better with those parts. Time to save some cash.

This looks like a great solution. Now I just need to figure out what problem I have that it can solve.

Can someone who's used one of these tell me what it would do for me that my lathe, mill or jeweler's drill press can't do?

It looks like a really well made piece of equipment and I LOVE getting new tools. I'm just not sure what I'd do with it.

The mill looks like a great alternative to the higher end Sherline and Unimat models and a huge step up from the OEM Dremel lathe. Someone on a tight budget could do some great work with these.

That's pretty much what I was going to say. I went and bought a small wood lathe a couple of years ago. I couldn't afford the Sherline. I wish I knew this was available the day before I bought the lathe.

It is killer for doing repeat patterns like swirl patterns on aluminum, or properly spaced rivet holes. The vice that you can order for it is very small capacity.

Just came across this 5 year old thread and became very interested in the x-y-z mill that this guy offers. I'd love to hear some commentary from any users of Vanda Lay machines. Are there any readers of this who bought one after learning of them from this thread?
