39 Lincoln 9
Last night, I turned the flathead starter and put it together this morning. The black paint is Krylon semi-flat and the end cap is Modelmaster buffing magnesium lightly buffed. The end cap was detailed with .01 " wide strip glued to the Delrin cap. The small bolts holding the cap on are 1 mm steel bolts form Scale Hardware and the round heads are sewing pin heads glued in. I took a piece of copper rod, flattened it with a hammer, contoured it and drilled a hole in the center to make the lead for the wire. The blue wrap is 3M tape superglued into position. I've included a couple of real starters along with mine.

Nice job Jeff. Each component is a model of it's own, huh?1thumbup1 1thumbup1 1thumbup1

Exactly. When you do it that way, you concentrate on one part at a time without being distracted by other parts of the build. It also makes a particular assembly like the entire engine seem less boring since your're not really concentrating on the engine. Hopefully your measurements are correct so it all goes together in the end. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Next comes the heads and then the intake.
