I have been working on this on and off for the last year, and now it is finished. I've got a lot of build sequence pictures that I would have liked to add to my galleries, but unfortunately they are too full and I don't have any access to edit them.

I have used the 'insert image' function to add a few pictures of the finished bike, and a link to my Flickr album were there are a load more.

I can't imagine why anyone would post pictures of a real bike and claim it to be a model - where's the fun in that?

I can assure you that what you are looking at is 100% Tamiya Tamiya 1/6th scale Harley Davidson Fat Boy Lo , 0% Milwaukee. No trick photography, no digital image manipulation. I am of course pleased that my model is good enough to cause doubt in your mind, but I thought the dollie pic would give it away. All credit to Tamiya Tamiya 1/6th scale Harley Davidson Fat Boy Lo though, it is a superb model.

I was just yanking your chain...

One of the best bike builds I've seen in a long time.

Question... What did you use for the asphalt and those 1/8 scale Maple leaves. Those really trick the eye into thinking these bikes are 1/1 Tamiya 1/6th scale Harley Davidson Fat Boy Lo .

Well you got me there - really wasn't sure how serious you were being - it's a bit difficult to judge on text alone. Thanks for the compliment on my build.

Leaves. The little fellas you see lying around in these shots are not actually leaves at all, but birch seeds. I bought a small packet with a large price from a scenery stall at a model railway exhibition, only to discover a few months later that there were piles of the things under a tree Tamiya 1/6th scale Harley Davidson Fat Boy Lo in a street close to my home.

It so happens that I've also been playing with 'maple' leaves, using a cheap paper punch.

The tarmac was some old satin black furniture paint with fine sand Tamiya 1/6th scale Harley Davidson Fat Boy Lo mixed in - it was one of those rewarding experiments where it worked out just right first time.

Not all credit should go to Tamiya Tamiya 1/6th scale Harley Davidson Fat Boy Lo . The builder did an outstanding job on this one. As always.
    Best regards,

Thanks Dominique. With this kit it really is easy to make a good job. With all the mechanical fasteners it's more like putting together a Tamiya Tamiya 1/6th scale Harley Davidson Fat Boy Lo RC car. As long as you can make a reasonable job of the paintwork you'll end up with a really good model. Making the older Tamiya Tamiya 1/6th scale Harley Davidson Fat Boy Lo Fat Boy from 1996 was much harder.

Hey Jon, they are right. It's not just the quality of the kit, it's the skill of the modeller that turns the kit into the fine piece we see here. Beautiful work mate, well done. And your photography is exceptional also.
Bull dust, blowflies, & the outback. Heaven on earth!

Thanks very much Dave. It was a very enjoyable build - I even bought a second one because it was such a good price that it seemed a shame not to.

Brilliant Model, Visited your own WEB site and I cant make my mind up as to whether the workshop photos are of the model or the real thing. If its the model and you have a scale model workshop what a fantastic job. If its trick photography (green screen ) then equally well done, if its the real deal you are a lucky man..I am currently building the Pocher Ducati Penegale, and what a super kit, to be followed by the Fatboy. I have downloaded the workshop manual but having trouble finding original photographs.
