        Can anyone tell me what the Outside diameter and or width of these tires? I am having trouble locating specifications for them. Lots of pictures but no numbers. I am toying between the 1911 or this 1915 version of the board track racers for my next project to compliment the Model T Racer.

        Also if you have images of these please post or forward; still doing the research.

      Ken - the bike is in Columbus. The owner said you can get up close and personal with it after the holidays.

      Great news! We will have to set something up after the holidays settle down. Heather and Evan arrived yesterday from California; after a three hour delay in Chicago and today we pick up Eric and Jamie in Cleveland at noon coming from NYC.

      First time in several years of having a houseful home for Christmas.

      Protarguy, nice bike but not exactly the Model 7, in my younger days I might have bought one.

      Ken - it would seem to me that if your entire family is in your house that this would be the PERFECT time to leave town. You can stay at my place until they're all gone.

      Let me know when you want to come to town and i'll set up the photo shoot. The bike is in his "garage" but he said he'd put it up on a rack for you when you're in town.

      If you're staying over night, you're welcome to crash at my place.

      I am thinking for sure a Saturday. One thing is there any chance that he could provide quickly just the overall outside dimensions for the tires and the wheelbase. I enlarged the side view yesterday while the kids took a nap after arriving and something is not adding up. One source says the wheelbase is 51 inches with tire O.D. being 28 inches. When enlarged proportionally they do not correspond. Just wishing to verify which numbers are correct; for wheel base I am measuring from center wheel nut to wheel nut.

      If he cannot I understand and will just have to wait.

      Geeze Ken. You're really making it easy on them. You roll out the red carpet like that and you're gunna have your kids coming home all the time. And then you won't have time to build the Harley.

      If it were me, i'd put an armed guard at the base of the driveway.

      Andy, this may be the issue with wheelbase difference. After studying the images I noticed that there was a major difference in the area below the seat between the vertical frame member and the fender of the racer versus the stock bike. This looks like the rear frame was modified and thus closing the gap and shortening the wheelbase on the racer. Anyone know if this was common practice back then?

      The frame there looks like a bolt on rear section ,this would be different for racers as they would not need the space for the tool box and oil tank ,if it is not in the "gas tank". Racing was important in those days they would not spare expense. This will be a great subject.All these race bikes were a little different as they were each hand made.

      Eric and Jamie's flight to NYC was cancelled Sunday evening and they now have a flight on Friday if they cannot get one on Thursday. Evan and Heather are in the air right now heading to Denver then on to San Luis Obispo.

      Great to have the kids for a couple of extra days.

      Andy, any update on the bike down there in Columbus? Just checking no hurry; a friend and I are talking about a trip to the Kettering museum soon.

      The bike's here Ken and the owner told me to call him after January 5th to set up a time for you to come see it.

      (He told me that he can't do it now because he's STUCK at his cabin in Aspen. I told him that nobody get's STUCK in Aspen.)
