Lets have some fun with an informal catalogue of motorcycle model kits. I have accumulated these over the last few years mostly off ebay .I include a little kit history when possible , if you want, include yours in the same format.

First off the Italeri /Ertle 1/9 series of kits .These included 2 Harley-Davidson's , aTriumph 3h (no pic) and a few others.

This was a series from Heller in 1/8 scale .This Commando was cool as I rode the crap out of the real thing through the 80's. Others included BMW's and ?

Revell 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... thought they had a clue when they put out numerous kits based on the Triumph 650 pre-unit bikes .There was a trike kit, a stocker ,drag bike and this:

Revell 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... also used a generator shovelhead for these two:

The genny shovel also was used in a 'Chopped Hog' kit as well.

Revell 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... also offered a knucklehead engine as well, although if one is aware of the look of a real knucklehead ,they would notice Revell 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... attached knucklehead rocker boxes to their genny shovelhead cylinder/head parts. This was in a drag bike kit and this one as well:

These Revell 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... kits are hilarious, the knuckle chopper instructions are a riot alone ,describing tires as 'skins' and gas and oil tanks as 'juice' cans!

Here is a shot of the last chopper I built real-time so you know I have half an idea!

      And what I ride now...

Please feel free to add your m/c model box pic to the catalogue.

Wacky doo! Another model for me! This one arrived a few days ago from El Paso, Texas, USA. Good old ebay, I hope I wasn't bidding against anyone from here, but I guess the highest bidder wins.

This is a much older version of the Triumph that Uli 'Protarguy' put in 'large scale motorcycles' in his thread 'Triumph Tiger Revell 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... 1/8'.

On the bottom left corner of the instruction sheet it says 'copyright 1964' so I'm thinking this kit would be approximately 46 years old, and the bags inside are still sealed. There's a bit of distortion to the box in the top right corner but otherwise all the bits inside are still in pretty good condition.

There's a bit of a story with this kit so I hope you don't mind me waffling on a bit. When I opened the box to check out all the parts I found an envelope inside that had written on it "Donation. East Australia Flood Victims" Upon opening the envelope I found a letter and cash from the seller asking me to pass on the donation to a needy family who is suffering from the devastating floods we had here in south east Queensland in early January. I was very touched by this most generous and kind act and I thought if these people are good enough to do this then I will double their donation and personally pass it on. I have family and good friends who survived the disaster but witnessed houses being washed down their street and people drowning right in front of them. The least I can do is fulfill the request of these wonderful\\()// folks
It's nice to know we can help each other even from the other side of the world. I just wanted to share this with you even though it's not model related. Thankyou.
    Best wishes to all, Dave.

I've got more! A little while back it happened to me again. I went for a browse at the hobby shop and walked out with another 1/35 scale kit. This one by Tamiya 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... . 2 bikes (a Zundapp 750 & a BMW 750, both German military WW2) and 2 (German soldier) riders in one box, good value. And after that 3 month long quick weekend build that turned into a diorama, I saw this and straight away thought of another. I am thinking a small section of curved dirt road with a fence along side and a small shrub, and these two soldiers racing each other.
    More on the way soon.
    Cheers, Dave.

I think I have a new hobby- collecting kits. I know some of what I have will never get built but I just can't pass up the chance to get a kit that I've been wanting for a very long time.
Today's new arrival is the Tamiya 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... 1/6 scale Yamaha YZ 250. I don't know when the kit was produced. When I opened up the box I could only find the Japanese instruction sheet, the English one is missing, but that's no problem, just can't read the info about the subject. I'm guessing the kit was originally purchased in a Sydney hobby shop, the sticker on the end of the box says- Hobbyco: $41.95.

A kit that I missed when I was a kid, because at that time it was too expensive to me. Today it´s more expensive to get the childs dreams. But this one was not too expensive.

It will be built some day.

I've been at it again Probing around ebay. But hey, I scored a great deal on this monster kit Tamiya 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... 1/6 scale Kawasaki KZ 1300 B Touring. The real bike came out in 1980 and the kit was produced in 1982. The box measures 24 inches x 16 inches x 5 inches (610mmx410mmx125mm), and says the completed model is 18 inches (450mm) long. It should look rather impressive taking up all that shelf space.

    Come on guys, someone must have something that hasn't been put in this thread yet ;';;';

How do you tell a fairy tale from a sea story? A fairy tale begins "Once upon a time..." A sea story begins "This is no bull..." So once upon a time I was ashore in Japan and discovered that many hobby shops were cleverly disguised as toy stores. No bull, I sez to meself. That was about when the collecting got serious. Fortunately, I've not found a cure 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... .

Nothing so fancy as everyone's collection, but I have on the workbench a Tamiya 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... 1/12 Ducati 916 and waiting to be built are

    Fujimi 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... 1/12 Kawasaki 2010 ZX-10R (Evangelion EVA-02 tie-in)
    Fujimi 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... 1/12 Kawasaki 2012 ZX-10R (Evangelion EVA-02 tie-in)
    Tamiya 1 , 2 , 3 , models for me... 1/6 Suzuki GSX1100 Katana

I have rider figures to go with them as well.

To make things a fraction worse, I've just seen the 2011 ZX-10R (to go with the other two) and detail upgrade kits for the 2010 and 2011 kits.
