Anybody know anything about the Testors 1/6 Indian model?

What they're worth? Are they worth building? Pictures of one somebody has assembled

Just curious what I'm getting into here.

      Thanks.

      Andy.

I got two of the Chief. They're still in the box with the original plastic wrap seal.

This is very close to the Testors Chief, also 1/6 but made in China. From what Ive seen on the Testors kits their fairly good but not a huge step over die-cast. Your going to have some areas that have little or no detail. But hey thats good since it gives you all kinds of areas to upgrade.

As for cost they seem it be in the $30 to $40 range.

I got two of them NIB for $60 including shipping. I don't figure on building them as much as using them as bucks and prototypes for a scratch-build that i'll do. I figure i'll do one classic harley and another more along the lines of arlen ness. But for $60, how could I say no.

When Im done eith the Real Stuff deuce Im building for the contest I was planning on a do a few motorcycle motors. A 74 Chief and the 1904 Harley. I was thinking of casting Testors 1/6 Indian all the parts in metal then detail them with all scale hardware on a display stand.

That would be great. I'd love to have a 1:6 Harley Knucklehead engine in metal. I'm thinking I may need to find a way to make that happen.

I still have some work to do on the Alfa however so this is just going to be a 30-day side-trip. Once the Alfa's completely done though, I'm going to spend a few months scratch-building some kinda two-wheeled affair.

The Testors Chief looks ok , but the 'Army" bike is a little off ,I cant find a picture of one any where. I think it is spurious.

The Marushin is gorgeous but has a pretty hefty price tag.

For those that cant find pics of the Testor's Classic Cycles here you go.

By the way the Army bike is hard to find.

I can find the models .I meant the Army bike is not a real bike ,its spurious . Here is the Indian contracted but never used by the Army , the Indian 841 in 1/48 scale.

Your absolutely correct. Indian lost the contract to Harley. Many feel it was the downfall of Indian and the rise of Harley.

Although not built to the standard that you guys are talking about, these links show what can be done with a diecast New Ray Indian.
