In terms of modeling, I've built nothing but classic cars my entire life and am now starting to think I might want to try something else. The only motorcycle I ever built was my Harley Knucklehead Tribute bike in 1:1 Want to build a scale Motorcycle scale (yes it runs). Now I want to try something that I can do on a model bench.

When it comes to classic car kits, the Pocher was just about the top of the heap. Is there a "Pocher" of motorcycle kits? I'm not opposed to scratch building pieces and parts, but I'm not looking for a year-long project. Just a nice 3 - 4 month build before I start my next car.

      Thanks.

      Andy.

    hello,

a fine machine you have there, that would be also my dream…
A motorcycle model which with Pocher models to compare lets itself?
There spontaneously only the kits of Protar occur to me.
If it should be somewhat larger, then the 1:6 it of Tamiya Want to build a scale Motorcycle .

Thanks Keramh. I'll look into the Tamiya Want to build a scale Motorcycle piece. Now I'm starting to think I could probably scratch build Want to build a scale Motorcycle something using my Knucklehead as the prototype. I don't know what i'd use for an engine and I'm pretty sure I don't want to scratch build Want to build a scale Motorcycle that, but the frame, forks, rear swing arm, wheels, handlebars and lighting wouldn't seem to be like that big of a deal.

    Hello,

me no Knucklehead engine is well-known as kit.
The earlier engine would be the Flathead like it Italeri or Esci in the military machines in 1:8 had.

Am strained as you that to convert want.

I would have to agree, the Knucklehead has been done. Personally I lean to the pre 1930's bikes. No thrills, straight and to the point vintage iron. What about a 1937 Indian Chief.... Now thats a bike......

Just a thought, Why not pick up an old 1/6 XONEX Harley off eBay, tear it down and fix all the stuff they flubbed on. Ive done a few and its a great way to scratch build Want to build a scale Motorcycle allot of parts without having to do the entire bike.

That's one gorgeous looking Betty. I'd love to see her in 1/6 scale. An Indian would be cool also.

I picked up 2 of the Testors 1:6 Indians over the weekend. Once they arrive, I'll see what kind of interesting things I can do with 'em.

    Oh yeah-
R.A.E. out of England made some multi-media kits of old motorcycles in 1/8 and 1/9 scale. Out of production and expensive...just like Pocher kits

Check 'em out Toy Motorcycle Museum

Never owned a 1/6 Harley Lee. Only motorcycle models I own are the two Indians.

I bought the 1/6th Tamiya Want to build a scale Motorcycle Honda 750 (racing version) many years ago, mostly because I had added the then new 1:1 Want to build a scale Motorcycle 4 banger to my collection of bikes (perhaps as the ads said I was trying to meet the nicest people, LOL) ......loved the kit, the individual link chain and detail was incredible, at least in my mind at the time.
My model is long gone and I totaled the full size one. I'd like to get another kit but being long out of production the kits that are available are way out of my hobby budget.

I wonder if I have enough "pull" at TDR Want to build a scale Motorcycle to entertain the the idea of a 1/6th multi-media motorcycle kit.

I wouldn't even suggest a Harley as they have been done to death but perhaps a vintage Bonnie, Norton, BSA.......what do you bikers think?
Wouldn't be an easy sell but someone has to do it.

Oh. Indians. How are they? I just ordered a 1/6 Indian inline-4 off ebay. There's a thread here from a guy who disassembled and detailed one of those. It looks good. BTW I have a few pics of Indian inline-4 bikes from a recent show in Austin. Let me know if you want to see them. Inline-4s only, though.

I got a CB750 builtup and parts lot off ebay for just over 30 bucks apiece. The parts lot has no frame, but that ok. I didn't want a stock frame for either of them. BTW if you want the rest of the parts, maybe we can work something out.

Ooh I hope you do. Seriously.

My vote would be for an Indian, preferably inline-4, but V-twin is nice, too. After that, a Vincent Black Shadow. Next choices would be Triumph/BSA/Norton.

I REALLY like your idea for a classic bike in 1/6.
