Hello everyone. Last week I purchased a partially completed 1/6 Black
Flash
FLH1200 on ebay. I picked it up for 23 bucks plus shipping. When I received it I found out why. The drive line and frame had been assembled and I have to say it may have been the worst example of model building I have seen. There were gobs of glue everywhere. Parts were not trimmed and
flash
prevented the parts from fitting tight so the assembler just used lots of glue to hold everything together. In addition, some of the parts were distorted because of excess glue. Nothing is square. It's too bad because this can be a really nice model.
I've done the best I can to disassemble the parts but it's a real mess. The inner primary is junk as is the starter, oil tank and the tappet blocks. Some parts were damaged as I cut and pulled them apart. The engine cases are a mess but I think I can salvage them.
I am using the kit to build a replica of a friend's bobber (picture attached).
I'm not sure how this typically works so I'll apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong venue. I am looking for a few parts if anyone has these stashed as spares and would be willing to part with them. I have already contacted Tamiya
and they are unable to help.I need the following parts:
tappet blocks, both
an fx rear fender
oil tank
headlight shroud and headlight for a Fatboy (I know that one will be tough)
Only the frame and drive line had been assembled. Most of the parts used to make this a touring model will not be used and are brand new on the trees. Saddlebags, fairing, instrumentation, basically everything that you'd strip off a full dressed bike to make it look like the picture I have available. I can offer these parts as a trade, partial trade or I can just pay for the parts outright. Whatever works best. Thanks very much for the help... Joe
