I've been working on this while I recover from my last surgery on October 13th, so it's gone pretty slow. This puppy has required a lot of work. I re-scribed all the panel lines (1st for me) and had a heck of a time getting the joints cleaned up. At this point, I think she's ready for paint.

Engine Nacelles, Exhaust Cans and undercarriage are complete less decals

    Thanks for looking

    Cheers

The SR-71 has always been one of my favorites. This is looking good.

If I can get back to the Air Force Museum, I'll be able to take some pictures if you need. I probably won't get too close but I can get shots of landing gear, problem fusilage area, or whatever you need.

I appreciate the offer, I really do. I have hundreds of pictures of this baby to get me through.

Paint is finally done. I've spent several hours filling, priming, and sanding, trying to get this putty monster looking decent. Tomorrow, I'll apply the future and decals on Thursday.

    Cheers

Hey guys......It's been 10 days, and you would think this mud puppy would be complete by now.

Long story short, kit supplied decals were no good, they break up into 100 pieces when I try to apply them, so I e-mailed Testors on Monday. So I thought........

This morning, I check the computer in my shop and found the e-mail I sent out, was still in the outbox. DAM....... So I hit the send button today.

I just received a phone call from Testors and she did in fact tell me that SR-71's with kit #584 are old kits and had a bad run on the decals. She is sending not one, but two sets of decals and they should be here by Wednesday next week.

    Way to go Testors......

At least we know that Testor's stands behind their products. That's good to know.

Wow, 5 days turn around. I ought to start buying a few more Testor's kits. They deserve the business.

Boy am I glad she sent me 2 sets. I started applying them yesterday and the first one I cut out and tried to apply, broke up. The third set was fine. No problems and I was able to finish the decals today. Now to seal them and start the weathering and detailing. Here's a couple of teasers......
