The Dawn Partol was as great as ever. The weather was touch and go on Saturday but it did not rain all day. Fog was the issue and clearance for the big birds to fly did not happen until around 1 pm. FAA requires 1,500 feet to fly. This year the show was twice the size of 2007. More planes, RC Flyers, and vendors.
However, the RC guys were there in full force all day flying when they could. Here is a shot down the RC flight line. This is just a sampling.

Here they are out on the strip ready to take off. If those model planes look big, they are 1/3 and 1/4 scale.

Here are three Full scale Fokkers warming up the engines ready for take off. Triplane DRI, D VII and a D VIII.

Here is a close up of a Fokker D VII with a Neuiport in the background.

Here an SE5a with pilot awaiting the signal to start his engine and take off.

There were even static displays of full size "in progress" builds.

A friend had a better telephoto lens than I so in flight pictures will be posted when he shares them.
