She took 2 months to complete. She was built right out of the box with the exception of the rigging tie off clamps.

That really came out very very well. You have to put those into the gallery. This is one of the highlights of the site.

Thanks. I just put them up. I keep forgetting this option is there. I'm a creature of habit I guess.

Thanks for all the compliments. It was a really fun and educational build. Here's an interesting picture. The difference between in size between the 1903 flyer and the 1917 Sopwith Camel.

Well guys. I'm going to do something that I've never done before. The local IPMS group has asked me to bring the Sopwith Camel and Wright Flyer to a contest this weekend. I have a bad feeling I'm going to look like an amature. Anyone in the Detroit area want to join me in Warren, or should I stay home.

    What does SMC think?

As an IPMS member I say take it.
You may get some chatter that it is not plastic, but not from anyone that matters.
We are modelers, and always appreciate a job well done.

I know a lot of members from the IPMS group in vienna and I think, take your chance to show your outstanding work. Don`t be shy. Your models are first rate.

You won't look like an amateur, Rob. You're way too good for that. Like Tage said, the real modelers will appreciate what you've done. There are always some bigmouths who have to put someone down in order for them to feel good about themselves. They really don't matter at all.

    Way to go Rob.

For you to come out third, they must have had some extraordinary aircraft there.
