1/16th Scale Mercedes Engine

Here is an image of my scratchbuilt all brass Mercedes aircraft engine. If I can figuire out how to do it I will post some addtional build pictures.

Here is a breakdown of the major engine components for the engine.

This shows how the engine crankcase halves were built up using 1/8" thick sheets of brass and then soldered together using Staybrite solder. The engine is cored out to save weight. The outside form was then hand filed very carefully so as not to require any filler.

That's definitely going into the scratchbuilt engines. That is absolutely gorgeous. that's not only first rate, it's world class and nothing short of it. Ken, do you do any WWII aircraft? Besides the hot rods and classics, that's where I hang out. I'd love to see what you could do with a P&W Double Wasp 2800
