Hello everyone. My name is Ken and I've been building for about 15 yrs or so. Sportscars are my favorite subjects, but I am interested in planes also. I have done little scratchbuilding, but a lot of kit enhancements. I am currently in the process of moving to western North Carolina, so I wont be building anything for a little while, but I dont know how long that Tamiya Introduce Yourself Porsche 934 will be staying in the closet!

I'm a retired dentist from central Illinois who enjoys woodworking, modeling and streetrods not necessarily in that order. I built models as a kid and started back a couple of years ago in conjunction with collecting dicast race cars especially those of A.J. Foyt. Mixing the woodworking with modeling has resulted in a couple of race cars; Wibur Shaws 39 & 40 Indy winning Maserati and Don Branson's Leader Card Racers champ car that he drove to victory over Andretti and Foyt in the 1966 100 miler at Springfield (when you beat those two on a track Foyt practically owned you had really done something) I enjoy building 1/24 th kits but am interested in more scratch building in the larger scales. Doesn't Ron Fournier's models of the Indy roadsters make you green with envy? Anyway I'm collecting parts for a track T so we'll see where that leads.

Hi all just joined this site was browsing on Bing and looking for forums for the Pocher car models and found this site so joined up.

I also belong to another forum for wood model ships, have building the ones in progress for three years now, one Mississippi river boat and two different sailing ships. Have several others on the shelf.

I also have four of the Model Airways 1/16 kits on the shelf for later, see reply on that thread side.

I am retired but still working part time same job, building racing engines and machinist, CNC in training.

Also retired US Navy reserves (Airdale) AE-1, also Vietnam era vet, US Army aircraft mech also.

Will post some progress picts of something when I get it going, probably a car model after I get a Pocher Rolls first. Have wanted to do one of those since I read an article in a mag many years ago just never got around to it untill now.

Hello! Been lurking here for a while and thought I would introduce myself. I have been building models since I was a kid. I am 51, so I have had a little experience with it. As a child, adolescent and teen to early adulthood years I worked on 1/25 to 1/16 plastic kits. I fell away from them for a while and finally got rid of all of them. Then, in 2001, I found a 1/18th scale die cast model at Big Lots. I bought it, took it home and decided I'd try to add a little detail to it. That was a Bburago gull wing Mercedes. I have detailed most of the die casts I have purchased since, over 200 so far. This morning I just finished detailing a Shelby Collectables 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350H. If anyone whould like to see my collection, I believe I have all of them up at my site:

    Cobalt1959's Diecasts - Home

I know many here have Pochers. There is a "poor mans" Alfa 8C 2300 there that I did my best to at least attempt to replicate a Pocher Alfa, but the model was a Bburago and the frame detail is awful.

    MAN ARE YOU GUYS TALENTED!

A builder for most of my 50 years. Never reached the levels many of you have. Am just starting a new custom build out of an old 1/8 scale Monogram Golden T that apparently was put together by a youngster, and promptly broken! Ha. Missing some parts. I also have a plethora of 1/8 kit parts, all Monogram. XKE, 78 vette, camaro, trans am. Will be sorting these out soon, if I get time. Thanks folks, and if anyone has a few T parts, or needs something out of these kits I have, let me know.

    Hello to you all,
I thought its about time i introduced myself,I live in the UK,and been modelling on and off since i was about 7 years old,but only had a couple a couple of kits a year as my parents were not very well off,so of course as soon as you get older you can afford the kits you only dreamt of building when you were a kid.
I will have a go at anything but my passion is Pocher,i have a few kits not started yet,
    Bugatti T50
    Mercedes Rumble seat Introduce Yourself
    Rolls Royce Ambassador
Mercedes 540k but with those awful plastic wheels.
Hope to start one of these very soon.
    Regards.
    Colin,

Glad you joined, Colin. We'd love to see what you're doing when you start one of those great kits. I'll be looking forward to it.

Hey Yves. Welcome to the site. Don't worry about your English, you're doing just fine. I used to build slot cars also but quite a while ago. When you get a chance, we'd love to see what you've built.

    Hi everyone,

I've posted a couple of times on the forum here, but thought I might need to introduce myself.

My name is Jack B. Erhart, username Jaxcoffee. Me and my wife just sold our coffee house and roasting business after 15 years, and now I'm semi-retired, and hopefully back into doing some static modeling.

The work I do now is 3D Geo modeling for architectural models in Google Earth, and some business development work with those needing help administrating their Google Places pages.

I use the design modeling program called Google SketchUp, and looking into possibly modeling and producing some parts for those that might need things built.

Any suggestions from you experienced modelers would be appreciated.

I have a local CNC guy I have asked about this, and I'm waiting his response about short run, small batch type of work, so stay tuned. Maybe we can put something together.

Anyway, we can kick this can down the road, just to see if there is enough need here for this to happen.

Thanks again guys and gals. Great spot here.

I was 12 when my Uncle found a Pocher RR at a yard sale and gave it to me for my birthday. I spent several years putting it together starting off a life long passion for building.

Ive taken a short leave of building to concentrate on Scalemotorcars.com. Hopefully soon Ill start a new project. Maybe Ill get back to the RR boat-tail.

Thats it. Now its your turn.
