I am planning to build a Chevy engine from scratch in 1:12. Does anyone have or know where to get drawings or blueprints with measures? I have bought a 69 Camaro, 67 Corvette and two 57 Bel Air's all missing engines. I would very much appreciate some help here.

Unfortunately, I don't have any plans or blueprints. I've done some engines in 1/8 but I worked mostly with some smaller model engines in 1/24 and then scaled them up to whatever scale I wanted. I take the 1/24 scale engine, put the block together and I measure every angle, side, notch, bump and ditch of as many parts as I need. I draw them out myself in side, front, back, top and bottom views. It takes a bit of time but once you have the main measurements, it's not all that difficult to do the build. if you still need some help, let me know and I can walk you through some of the difficulties. Welcome to the site. Glad to have you here.

I have had that alternative as a backup plan. After all its just a model and most of the block will not be seen. I'm thinking aluminum too. Working as a toolmaker makes materials and machining easy.

purchase a copy of "chevrolet power- the offical factory performance guide" you will find what you are looking for in there.

p.s. this is NOT "chevy power", the magazine. it is a paper bound book.

i,ve done an all aluminum blown hemi in 1/8 scale. loads of fun!

You can't beat that with a stick. Thanks Michael. I didn't have anything like that. I hate reinventing the wheel.

o.k. google "chevy power book". there are a number of places that sell it. for your $18.95 (new, amazon has used also) you will recieve the actual BLUEPRINTS for:
    1) 60 deg. v-6
    2) 90 deg. v-6
    3) small block chevy
    4) big block chevy.
it don't git no better than that.

OK, I'm gonna have to try it, having cars with no engines at the time.
