Not sure where this thread should be but I'm looking for a set of these tyres to 1/8th scale .
I have only ever seen them on the GMP 1/8th scale Gurney Eagle F1 diecast.
Please if anyone has this model and would be prepared to allow me to take a casting searching for a set of 1/8th scale Goodyear F1 tyres from the front and back tyre I would be more than gratefull as it will save me alot of time making new patterns from scratch for our Brabham Project.

    Sean,
If you aren't able to find suitable tires to pull molds from, if you can send me detailed photos and dimensions, I might be able to make a 3D CAD model for you that you could use to have a rapid prototype made.

Hi Modelmaker, The 1970's Lotus 72D and Mclaren M?? were released in the 1970's in 8th scale by Eidai. It was then re-released by Revell searching for a set of 1/8th scale Goodyear F1 tyres and then again by Entex later in the 1970's. Both models had Goodyear slicks on them. They regularly come up for sale as a mint kit on Ebay and typically go for $300-400. They also come up occassionally on Ebay as partially built models and go for around $50-100.

  12. The one I've got is 70mm OD x26 wide with10mm sidewalls. It'd be good for molding the tread but not much else it seems.

The tire in the Lotus are of a low profile later generation racing tire than the ones in the picture you showed.
