first i should say hello. i'm new here. my name is dave sherman. i build primarily 1/8 scale modern day drag cars. i like a touch of retro thrown in for good fun but, mostly, very high horsepower, very large rear tire cars. i've been working on this build for about 8 months. the car is probably 99% scratch built 1/8 aa/fa . i do all of my own work (i.e. machining, painting, etc.) i welcome all questions and/or comments. i hope you enjoy the car as much as i do building them.

Hi Dave and welcome. Now that is impressive!! Could you do a little breakdown on the construction of the car, what was machined and out of what kind of material, how the frame was constructed etc., you get the idea.
    Thanks for posting,

thanks for the welcome guys. as far as construction i'll hit the major components.
*the chassis is soldered brass tubing.
*the engine long block was mastered in renshape and cast in resin 1/8 aa/fa . most of the accessoies are
mostly machined aluminum (i.e. fuel pumps, belt guard, pulleys, etc.)
*the rear is a combo of renshape and aluminum
*the trans is aluminum and driveshaft tube
    *the wheels are machined aluminum
*the tires are machined from solid neoprene
*tin work and seat are aluminum sheet
*body is extensivly reworked popular kit unit
here are some construction photos. if you have any specs you'd like answered, please don't hesitate to ask.

Very impressive. Looks just like some of the cars that will be at Famoso this March! I like the blend of "new" and "old."
