Starting a new thread for the V-12 FED....4 Ardun headed, fuel injected, Lincoln V-12's named "Quadzilla"... With out a doubt the most ambitious project for me yet..I should have a set of plans for the chassis this week to use for basic dimensions and the balance of the engines in a couple of weeks..For those of you just tuning in I had originally planned for single V-12 FED but after getting the engine and chatting with the members decided to go all out "Quadzilla"-v12-fulie-jpg using 4 of these things...Due to the size and weight of this thing Ill be building the chassis out of brass so I purchased Ken Foran's book on brass building .
I figure Ill prototype the chassis with dowels and plastic initially and finalize in brass..
Im pretty stoked about this build and will try to pre plan (good intentions anyway) as much as possible so as not to encounter the issues I had/still have, building my twin turbo Pontiac powered 32..
Special thanks to Spinellid82, Comp1839, Big john, and Don Garrett ..You guys helped me decide to attempt this...I must have had a moment of insanity..
Stay tuned this should quite the ride

    Now don't go blaming me!

This thing is gonna be beyond enormous and the weight will certainly be in scale to it's size. WAY COOL!

Isnt that the truth, but man if I can pull this off, it will be a killer ride...Figure close to 2k when done ( Maybe more....Ive been saving my pennies)....The engines have been the biggest expense at this point but as with ALL hobbies they can get pricey..Tires and wheels will be the next biggest expense along with any TDR "Quadzilla" goodies Ill probably purchase....At least the labor is free

If I can spend a grand on a 1/16 Nomad you may not want to know what you spend on this!

I have the 11" in all three scales, it is an awesome kit but I really want to see one of the top loaders all done up. So if you are asking me, I vote for the top loader.

Don't forget to use an old penny. Pre '82 they are solid copper and they spin better in the air due to the weight. Just thinking that pennies may be all that's left so try to find an old one.

mike, i built a top loader in my top alcohol "Quadzilla" dragster build. i also built the mark williams 11" in my 10.5 outlaw camaro. i only use the center carrier in both builds. i machined the rest of the stuff.

i hope to have copied a link to the dragster here.

    http://www.scalemotorcars.com/forum/large-scale-cars/20428-article-motm-28-winner-1-8-scale-top- alcohol "Quadzilla" -dragster.html

here's a link to my photobucket.

    http://s243.beta.photobucket.com/user/comp1839/library/

the outlaw 10.5 camaro build has the mark williams 11" rear in it.

the '69 camaro pro mod build has the 9" ultra case with a brass fabbed floater rear.

    just more options.
