      Hi Gang,

I have been building models since the 50s. Seen a lot of changes in the hobby, some good, some exciting, and some not so good and some that make you go... HuWhathe were they thinking.????

A few years back I had the opportunity to purchase a Big Deuce kit, needing the tires for another model project. With the tires I got a lot of other stuff that Monogram thought would be useful too, like a whold car and two engine options.

Of course, never being content with just building the model, my mind went of on some tangents and I got all excited about making a really cool 1/8 scale Ardun powerd belly-tank lakster. then one day I was checking out this SMC site and someone was talking about an Ardun headed Lincoln V-12 with a Potvin blower setup. That just took hold of my fragile mind and twisted in all sorts of ways.

You might say I do thing the hard way, or maybe I just like the challenge and satisfaction of doing hand work, but most of the parts of my models are hand shaped and sanded. I use a lot of RenShape 460, styrine, abs, brass, steel, wood etc.

Ok, so that just puts a little scratch in the surface of my background. I do commission model and CAD work and only reciently have been offering these 1/8 engine kits on the-bay, and have getten some very encouraging responces.

I intend to sell my products here on a sort of subscription basis, if that is the right word for it. I will gather orders and do a production run when I get enough orders. I am still thinking it through so I would appreciate suggestions from you pros, (with all due respect, you guys make some insane machines!)

I am also very interested in what would interest the rest of you 1/8 rodders out there. I can't and won't promise to do it all, I still have my own agenda . A means to an end sort of thing. Heck I would love to be able to build one of these beasts myself. After some thought I may just use the injected V12 in the belly tanker.

I know this is too long but it is my intro. Here's a little something I'v been playing with in photoshop.

      Enjoy.

Hay Dude, thanks for the encouragement, the potvin setup does look pretty lean and mean. Maybe "The Return of the Son of Lincenstein!" I am not sure if I want to drive the mags off the timing case like they are now or with a take-off drive for the water pumps and mags. Most of the LSR and Drag applications wouldn't use water pumps anyway.

I have kind of stayed away from the SCot blowers because someone else is already selling some and I am a tried and true GMC man at heart. I am working on some CAD layouts for a 10-71 top mount blower and perhaps some finned heads for the beast.

Drop me a line when you are ready to make the plunge into that Gargantuan 4x12 monster of your imagination.

    Model On! John

heck no, i didn't abandon you guys. just really busy trying to get ahead of the curve on the '37. i got the motor torn down and i'm working on de-tuning it. finally got the new ultra case rear put together and installed. making new motor plates, lenco slider mount and clutch pedal. on top of that i'm working on making a custom hydraulic e-brake for a floater rear (state says i gots to have one). then i have a bunch of other niceties i have to put there so the police don't use me for ticket practice.

on the model front i also came across a friend who was cleaning house and donated a K.B. aluminum hemi block (not repairable) so i can document it. he also gave me a cast TFX aluminum block (relatively good shape) to document. so, i can't wait to start building some 1/8 scale versions of those motors.

the camaro is just sitting there calling my name. i'll get to it soon i hope.

i stop in when i get the chance . just don't have much time to write anything.

I have had several requests for me to sell my 1/8 scale Ardun V8 & V12 kits, stock Ford flathead kits and/or parts of my kits somewhere other than thE Bay.

Here is the way I will set thi sup... First write to me at info@hocneystudios.com and let me know which models you are interested in, Basically I am offering the kits that I posted on thEbay over this past year.

Ardun head, and engine kits; Stock flathead head and engine kits; V12 engine kits with either carbs or injectors. In addition you can purchase seperate injector kits (X8) and the Lincoln distributor kit.

I don't have a problem selling parts on a Pick 'N' Pull basis along with full kits so if you want something less than a full kit I will e-mail you a check list of parts to select from. This way you don't miss anything you need for your model and we both know exactely what you are buying and I can work up a price for you.

    Soud reasonable? Model On!!!

My hockneystudios.com site at this time is more of a portfolio of my past work, and really needs to be up-graded to accomodate this latest venture.

been doing a little work to my new v-12. great pieces. very nice casting Ardun Kits V8 V12 . i changed mine a little from what it came to me as. i opted to make it a little more robust on the bottom end so i installed a crank girdle and some cyl. webbing. renamed it the ardun 500 since as a 12 cyl 500+ cubes are possible. it will be blown w/ dual pro mags (only one plug per cyl. though) a large fuel pump and a buzzard catcher injector hat. here's a few spy photo's.

    hope you enjoy!
