I know I am not alone in this, but I always thought that the Big Deuce needed a nice set of wires..........these were loosely modeled after the 1935 32 spoke variety.......the rim and center section were 3D printed with the spoke holes in place at the correct angles and all.............032" piano wire was used for the spokes...........the rim is sized to fit the Deuce tire (this being the rear) and the the rear backspacing / offset, as well as the bolt circle matches the steel wheels found in the kit..........the hub cap is a first pass at something appropriate........

The idea is to make the rim and center section available through TDR Wire Wheel for the RM Deuce......... so those who want to build up their own could do that.......

Those came out awesome Tony. I had been toying with the ideas for engineering a kit of wires. The M/R tires scale out to 16" is there any option for an 18" rim?

    Great Product Line Allaround!

John.........the wire wheel was really just an experiment to see if I could make it work............I liked it and posted it up, and there was a fair amount of interest, and so we put it in the catalog.........however, I am unsure if anyone has actually bought a set.......they are a bit pricey, and you still have to get the piano wire and assemble them...........so, at the moment, there is no plan to offer variations on the current wheel..............

    Tony,

Thank you very much for the link.

I was hoping to use them with the older style monogram white wall tires, but that does not look possible. I'll just have to learn to love the newer style tires. :)

Thanks Tony, I think I saw them in your Shapways catalog. And yes, they are a bit pricy though the wire is not an issue. I often use mig welding wire for such things. It is stiff and springy and comes in .030 and .035 di. I think maybe even .025 as well. Dirt cheep when prorated or you may even be able to pick up scraps at a welding shop. Just as a artistic detail constructivism, I would like to see the outter hub with a little more of the hour-glass shape that the 1-1 wheels. that said they are awsome, and the caps look great too.

    Thanks, John

I love them- and I will eventually acquire a set. But, like you said - they are pricey - for those that have not gotten that far - a full set - 2 fronts / 2 rears / hubcaps and the jig to build the wheels adds up to approximately $200 (the jig puts it over, but the jig can build as many wheels as you want to build) - which I don't see as being "bad", just it is not chump change (for me, anyways).

Adding these up, I got to thinking - does these prices include shipping? And, since I would be wanting a set, or - at least - a pair of wheels - any price break?

I do know one of your partners (MF) - and I spoke with him on these beautes - so, I doubt a price break ON THE PARTS would be possible - but, I think I could "gain" some on a shipping cost savings -

Also, I did notice one little detail that seems to be missing - a valve stem, or at least a location hole for such a detail - Have I overlooked that?

Thanks for these really NICE wheels - now to start saving $$$
