It happened, I guess it was always bound to, I was just kidding myself that it wouldn’t.....................
After spending a week in hospital where the computers wouldn’t let me log onto the site I’m back and ready to bore people to death!
Yes I started on one of my 1/8 builds. I had parts from the Monogram Big T but I don’t like the look of the 'Fad T' body so I shortened it and sectioned it a little. I’m now making a turtle deck for the back and using a Poncho for the motor. Making up an 8 carb intake for it just to be different. Still need a set of wheels and tires from the re-issue 32 kit.
Making up a buggy spring and diff for the rear as well as a full I beam front end.
This is a real scavenged build as I only have some parts, making what I don’t. So good, so far!!
Hope to have some pics soon.
      Doc.
      :D :p

I'll add the wheels tires for you ,Doc. Do you want the Firestones or the Goodyear, the mags or the steelies? I forget. Get well soon, Doc. We don't need our guys stuck in on sick call.

The Firestones and steelies would be fantastic. I gave away the only spare set of wheels and tires I had in 1/8!!
    Thanks,
    Doc.

No problem , Doc. I still didn't get the big box so I'll just send these on ahead. If I find anything else that looks cool, I'll toss it in.

Discovered something interesting today after dragging a spare Magnum dropped axle into my hobby room to measure up for a new axle for the T.
I sat down, drew up some plans and then thought, what is the axle in the Lindberg Big Red Rod kit?
Dragged that out, measured it and its almost exactly the same as my 1:1 My T Magnum! One interesting thing is the axle has been 'Dagoed' it even has the 'pinch' where it has been heated and stretched. That makes it a dagoed 32 Axle. Man that’s good detail!
The one I’m making will be the same as my Magnum with the thicker non pinched dropped portions.
    Cheers,
    Doc.

    Well I found it interesting...........

Don't underestimate the power of good detail, Doc. I've got a Big Red Rod waiting on the shelf and that makes me feel better about Lindberg. For you younger guys, way back when, Lindberg did not have the best reputation for great models. After seeing the Exterminator and now the other kit, I have more respect for them. Even with the funky tires made of hard plastic, they don't go flat like on the deuce.
