John, it would have been a shame if you didn't share the Fiat with us. It turn out great! Is the chassis made out of metal?

The main piece of metal in the car is the bridging piece between the nose and the rest of the car and is aluminium lithographic plate. It works beautifully when hand folded and formed because it is so soft. The other small bits of lith. plate form the ridges of the blower which is mainly made from automotive body filler cast in a rough mould and then hand finished. Yes Sean the wheels weren't wide enough and being plastic were easily widened with sheet styrene . The chassis is part kit and part scratchbuilt out of styrene tube as is the roll cage. I must admit doing the research for the project has been great. Talk about take you back! I had a fascination for dragsters in my early High School years and seeing some of the photo's on the net really brought back memories of the Drag scene in the U.S. in the middle sixties. The Fiat Topolino as a Dragster is , for me , an American design classic.

I always did love the Topolino style dragsters. They were very popular subjects to model in the early 60's.
