A while back someone mentioned using one of Dan's phaeton bodies to do a tudor body. At the time I commented briefly on how I would go about it, basically using a phaeton body and a 5 window body.
A couple of months prior to this I bought a bunch of 1/8th stuff of Rick. This stuff turned up here around 5 or so weeks back.
Included in that stuff was a resin
5 window body, Rick had altered into a phantom pickup body. With all due respect to Rick, the pickup body did nothing for me. But I could see that if I wanted to I could turn it back into a coupe, using a roadster back ( even though roadster backs are slightly different to 5 window coupe backs). Or this 'pickup cab' could be the basis for the roof to convert a phaeton body into a tudor.
So earlier today I ordered another phaeton body and another 3 window body from Dan.
Having a phaeton body here I decided that I would use this body to make the tudor.
I am not going into a long winded with measurements tutorial on this one. Just brief descriptions and images.
Here is the body I got from Rick.

After eyeballing this resin
cab and a real tudor body I have here in the garage, I mapped out a plan in my mind and started cutting.

Next I attacked the phaeton body.

Then with a bit of filing and fitting and filing and fitting the 2 pieces of the beginning of this project were mocked up.

So that is what I got done today. I am very pleased with the progress so far. A long way to go, but I think it will all be worth it in the end.
Oh and Don, I have been saving the resin
dust and off cuts.
