That is really a personal choice of style.
I would choose the one that best fit my vision of the completed project.

I assume you mean the three window or the five window....like Tage said, pick one that suits what you have in mind for your build.

Thanks for the diplomatic replies. I was hoping for a "this one is made better, or worse" answer.

I have a project in mind that will require a couple of things such as cycle fenders, hemi engine, standard rear end.

There was a cool 32 built by the Detriech Bros of Cedar Rapids in the 50's. I use to see the coupe cruising the streets back then. This coupe was still driving our streets as of two years ago when it was sold to a guy in California. It was a chopped and channeled over the frame 32 coupe with a hemi and six twos, it had cycle fenders in front and cut down stock fenders in the back.

I have found a kit that might help me out, the Hot which coupe? Canary by Lindberg has a standard rear pumpkin and cycle fenders. And of course the cool coupe bodies that are available today will really help. I hope to have some pics of the real car here soon.

I am not new to models or cars but its been along time from my last car model. I have been doing rc planes for many years but have had this Big Deuce kit in the garage just waiting for me to do. So any ideas or help you guys can give will be very welcome.

    Thanks,
    Paul

Quite honestly the Coupe is a better body. The casting which coupe? is cleaner with better wall thickness. The Phaeton is a great starting off point but it does require more finish work. Anyways thats my 2 cents.

Keep in mind that if it's your intention to be authentic, the Parma HEMI is 1/10th scale, NOT one 1/8th. There is a notable difference when you see it installed in a 1/8th size car.

The Parma is indeed 1/10th and out of scale for 1/8th, thanks for the heads up M.F.

Guys I've seen a few represented on eBay as being 1/8th so beware.....these sellers are usually vague with statements like "appears to be 1/8th" etc. Or they will put them in a 1/8th grouping and let you assume it's 1/8th.

I think the 3 window is a good choice. You have the advantage of a larger looking door and it's in the suicide position which always looks cool to me. The 3 window is actually the deluxe version of the 32 Ford, so in my opinion makes a better choice for a real clean and shiny looking car. I tend to like the 5 window for a more beat up look. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the replies. I have to get the pictures of the original coupe first but think it was a three window. It had an unusual front treatment in that the top hood was off but the hood sides were on. I also found out the hemi was added later so I might do the original version.

My original question was about which coupe body to buy. I thought that the Edeuce and Scalemotorcars coupes were different products but now must asume they are the same coupe?

Paul...they are two separate suppliers.......eDeuce has one.... as does ScaleMotorcars.
I can't honestly say which is better as I have not built either one. If you contact Dan directly (administrator and caster) I'm sure you would save a little money on your purchase being a member. If you'd like, I'll have him contact you.
Perhaps some of the other members could offer you their input.

Thanks I can use all the input I can get and this looks like the only place to get it. I wish this part of the forum was more active but am supprised at the good number of very usefull replies so far.

I am getting more info on the car I want to do, such as the engine was an olds or pontiac with six twos, rear fenders were cut down dodge truck, front fenders were off a Harley. I could just cut down the rear kit fenders and modify the available cylce fenders to have turning lights in them. Sorry, just thinking out loud, trying to get all the duckies in a row before buying anything extra for this project.

Hey Paul. I cvan help you with the engine if you need it. The Big Deuce kit already comes with a Pontiac with the six 2's but you'll have to do some scratchbuilding for the Olds. I've scratchbuilt one myself and it's not difficult to get some really fine detail. Let me know what kind of help you'll need.
