      Happy New Year everyone.

I got a chance to work on the Dave Truck and I'm pretty happy with the results so far. Based on the Lindberg T, I have so far chopped the already chopped windshield another 3/8", built a multi-level console which will eventually have walnut panels (right now they're tongue depressors), built a new dash from a Monogram T dash, smoothed the body and made a new floor to accept the bomber-style seats, designed and built new motor mounts, filled the million-or-so holes in the rear cross-member and truck bed, and I have began the boxing of the frame rails.

      I'll post some pictures soon.

    Very cool.

Funny, I'd never thought of tongue depressors as wood sources. Looks like they have a nice tight grain. Do you plan to use a top coat of any kind of them? Or are you leaving them just stained? I would think they'd look great with a nice smooth semigloss.

I made bone brackets like that on my '32 frame. I'll try to get some pics that you can see them in.

    Happy New Year!

Hey Steve, that really looks-------OW!!!. Dang it. I knew I'd hit my head on the hobbyroom floor. (Hot ford coupe has just been knocked off his socks once again by the great EstebanLoco. As he squirms, strains and reaches for the table to lift his pain wracked form off the cold hard floor lined with nothing more that a carpet with the upgraded padding, his joints creak loudly as if the muscles are being shredded off his already weak bones. He cries out "Help, I've fallen and I can't get up." At that moment, making the sound of lightning careening through the rain soaked fog, Supermodeler appears drilling his way through the pea soup haze spread over Northwest Florida like a blanket of Christmas flocking The Dave Truck under an already deteriorating tree The Dave Truck . Deftly he scoops HFC from the cold, hard, cheaply made carpet restoring him to his favorite hobby chair and buckles his harness once again. " What would I ever do without you, Supermodeler" shouts the bruised and tattered HFC weakly raising his arm to wave a fond goodbye to his hero. Until the next time, stay tuned to the Adventures of Supermodeler.

Seriously, Steve, that's really great work. I cant wait to see the painted rolling chassis eith the engine before you mount the body. If you can get shots of that I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, they taste a lot better than those lumpy pancakes we used to get over at SA. The food's alot better at this bin. Softer padding in the rooms also. The bed turned down and a crayon on the pillow every night.

Hey glu. The tongue depressor "place holders" will be replaced with solid aged dark walnut pieces cut from the most beautiful piece of wood I have ever seen that was graciously provided to me by fellow member and great all round guy grandpa "Don" (aka McGurk). I keep the tongue depressors around for mixing Bondo but they worked good for the photo op (thanks also to Old English furniture polish). I use EnviroTex (decopauge) to finish the wood. I feel the deep gloss finish really gives it a 1:1 The Dave Truck effect.
