Okay, I've decided to do a thread on my first 1:8 scale build. It is a "Big T" and even though you are probably tired of seeing them I hope to be a bit different. I will figure out how to upload photo's but probably not for a while.

All that is done so far is the finishing of the TDR Another "Big T" build. IRS to primered, the modification and finishing to primered of a TDR Another "Big T" build. IFS and custom V.C.'s, timing cover, oil pan and "functional" Dominator carb for the TDR Another "Big T" build. 350. I'll be ordering a 4 speed shortly.

Ten days since accident, the pain is not to bad now so building resumes. I should have the IRS mocked up in a few days. I'll take pics before any prettying takes place so you all can see how sloppy one handed modeling can be.

Hey Gunny...I also bought the TDR Another "Big T" build. IFS for a deuce build and was considering adding the IRS also so I can't wait to see how yours looks - especially with the substituted springs you're using. Until now I had just planned to use the TDR Another "Big T" build. springs for my IFS - painted with Tamiya Another "Big T" build. Black Rubber with the rest of the coil-over being chromed.

Glad you're feeling a little better.

I have the TDR Another "Big T" build. IRS for the Big T, ready for finishing but then I was challenged by a friend to build one myself. I'll probably use mine even after spending $100...oh well, guess they'll be another T or a Big Deuce to use it on later.

The TDR Another "Big T" build. IFS can also be modified for the Big T...guess maybe I'll have to use the TDR Another "Big T" build. IRS on the Big Deuce and build my own IFS...

I am done with the center section, front, rear and side covers, center section mount,
control arm mounts and control arms, caliper mounts, calipers, rotors and inner half shaft yokes. Working on the outer hubs now.

I am using the TDR Another "Big T" build. IRS and a few pics I found online as reference and inspiration. Doing a LOT of backwards engineering and believe me...it really is backwards engineeering, not reverse engineering! You should see the mess I have made of my workspace!

And Steve, all the leaves are brown and the sky is gray. LOL

    Nope, ham...LOL

Any how, the IRS mock-up is almost done, either tomorrow or Wednesday probably. I will post pics of mock-up and disassembled for prettying. The final product will have drilled aluminum rotors, aluminum yokes and drive shafts, aluminum shocks with real springs and aluminum outer hubs.

It does roll and the suspension is functional. All it needs is the gearset and it would be fully functional (sans brakes.)

Although a few of us probably don't want to admit it, getting what you need is usually better than getting what you want.

Hey Gunny. Try this. I just did it and it seemed to work fine. First, click on User Tools, then click on edit signature. Scrol down to the bottom of the page and you'll see where it says Signature Picture. If you want to add a pic from your computer, hit browse, find the pic on your computer you want and click on that. Once you've done that, hit the upload button. Finally, once that's completed, hit save signature and you should be done. If that doesn't work, PM me and I'll try to help you out.

Hey Gunny. Take a look at your signature now. I think I fixed it. Looks pretty good to me. I may have been a lowly dental officer but they called me the Chairborne Ranger.

Half shafts, shocks, brakes pads and 12 pistons for the 6 piston calipers and the mock up will be done! The pistons will be simple and I don't foresee many problems with the rest, the geometry is fairly simple from here out. Some of the stuff was pretty difficult even after drawing it out.

Like I said in the beginning of this, I was an 8th scale virgin just a few weeks ago. It is a differsnt reallity between paper and physical. Lot's of parts were just simply to big and had to be redone. I am also slowed by a defective grippng device on my right arm...that is really becoming a neusance!
