Hello all...
I have been a member for a few short months, and thought I would join the community with a few pics of the project I am working on. It is a Fuel Altered "T" in 1/8 scale, but is almost entirely scratch built
. The body is the ever popular bucket T from monogram of which I have 4 of.
First question regarding these is which one to use? I have a red body, but have heard that color "bleeds" when you paint it. I have a yellow "Big Rod" of which I am inclined to use, and I have 2 "Big Drag" bodies which judging by their cost on "The Bay" should not be cut up for an altered. Also, was there ever a T with a Turtledeck other than the Big Drag model, and if so How do I find one? I have one from the Big Drag car but don't want to use it.
The wheels will be a set of the kidney bean Halibrands, and the rear will be a resin
9" that has been narrowed and braced for the early type altereds. I'm looking for a rear disc brake setup for that and am thinking of the
TDR
setup. Any comments or suggestions on that?
The engine will be a replica of the Donovan 417 topped with an Enderle "Barn Door" type fuel injector with the matching scoop.
