TDR
Innovations has kindly sent me one of their 8th scale 6.1 Liter Hemi engine kits and asked that I do an on site (both here and on MCM) build and evaluation. Once built, this engine will eventually go into my 8th scale Willys woody.
The kit arrived today. TDR
products are well known for being safely packed and this package is a typical example. It was sent Priority Mail and the contents rested happily in foam chip's. Upon opening the box and emptying the chips, the parts are found wrapped in bubble wrap. I'm really happy so far.
One of the things we hobbyists always look for when ordering kits is the assembly instructions. Unfortunatly, this kit does not come with instructions. A search of the TDR
website does find the assembeled engine kit, but, unlike the other
TDR
engine kits, there is no parts breakdown for this kit. In addition, because
TDR
kits are manufactured using the Rapid Prototype method, instructions on how to prep this medium would be helpful.
While this may not be a problem for the experience builder, others may find it problematic. TDR
needs to bring this kit up to speed with their other kits, and add assembly views and prep instructions to the web site. More about this minor glitch later.
