Nice progress, but what happened to the engine? or are the pictures in backwards?
    The dashboard looks crisp.

it has even an aftermarket xenon set lights on it, hehe. Looks nice, perhaps you can shorten the leg's of the LED's? you will find it would be easier to make them unvisible

added a little more detail to the engine today

    throttle cable

    speedo and shifter cables

my crude attempt at a power steering box and hoses

    and some tranny cooler lines.

Don't ya hate it when this happens !

luckily it didn't spill on the model or I would have lost it!

I built up the interior this week...

... and the weather was unusually nice today so I base coated the body in flat white.

Still need to sand Turbo T A build up out some of the rough spots, but if the weather stays nice I may get some color on it this week.

It's been a while between updates but I kinda got stalled on the paint job.
What you see here is actually the third go around. The first paintjob was an absolute disaster, the second wasn't too bad I just wasn't happy with it.
Third times a charm I guess. It looks kinda brown or maroon in the pics but it's actually candy apple red over a black base.

Also did a little work on the rear spoiler, some detail painting and built light boxes for the led's that will light up the tail lights. I'll post more pics when that is ready

Nice work John. I love the headlights. Are you doing the taillights and side markers also (and maybe the dash?).

    Keep up the good work.

Had to grin when I read your post John....I tried candy apple red over black a few years back myself thinking I'd wind up with a really cool black cherry.....nope.
Try as I might it always came out brown.
It is a good lookin' brown however.
I've yet to try a transparent smoke over the red candy (gold base) in my pursuit of killer black cherry, short of buying or mixing a custom automotive paint I haven't found the magic bullet yet.

Some of the best colors happen by accident.....trial & error rules I guess.
    Your build looks great.

    Thanks for looking, guys.
Tail lights, yes. I was going to light the side markers but there is no room behind them for light boxes at least in front anyway. I'm still debating wheather to do interior lighting or not.

Don, my second attempt at the paint job was actually Candy Apple Red over a gold base, I made the mistake of sanding Turbo T A build up the gold base to get rid of some dust specs. The sanding Turbo T A build up streaks came through the red paint, other than that it looked great.
I'm gonna try it again on an 1/8 scale iroc I have.
